Title: Drive Belt Pulley Q: Post by RocksimusMaximus on 10/27/08 at 13:26:11 Anybody know what size the nut is that holds on the drive belt pulley (the one up front)? I don't want to have to make 4 trial and error trips to Sears, ya know? BikeBandit has it listed as 20mm... but just eyeballing it, it looks bigger than that. P.S. Those lock-washers are a pain in the A$$! |

Title: Re: Drive Belt Pulley Q: Post by justin_o_guy2 on 10/28/08 at 00:15:10 Those big clunky sockets from harbor freight will handle all the times theyll get used on this bike. Save yer $$ & go there. I have over $10,000 in tools, some are Snap On, Some Mac, Craftsman & other assorted Good Quality tools, but I buy Harbor Freight for the occasional use, low tech stuff. I got my compressor there, too, still got my fingers crossed after a bit over 2 years.Got me one O them $300.00 fold up trailers, good for 1,450 pounds. Still building it after several days..Man, cutting & making sideboards, sealing with water sealer, wadda Hassle! But its goona look good( for a while) & last a long time.300 just gets the trailer, then ya gotta go get a floor & sideboards & nuts & bolts & screws. Im thinkiing about building conduit frameworks to put a top on it, with a tarp. Anyone ever do such a thing? |

Title: Re: Drive Belt Pulley Q: Post by serowbot on 10/28/08 at 00:49:05 Justin, My buddy George has one of those trailers...He's hauled my busted/crashed bikes three or four times, and we've used it a couple of hundred times for everything else,... helping everybody. Well worth the cash and the effort. We've got a double thick plywood bottom, with tiedown hooks, and a wrought iron makeshift ramp...we make sides as we go,...sometimes they get in the way....We upgraded to the 12" wheels... We've hauled dozens of bikes,..furniture, and moved several houses over the last three years... Saved thousands in rentals. We are working on adding a removable front wheel chuck for hauling bikes....kind of a sideline of ours.... anybody looking for a 650 vstar, 04'Savage, Kawa police bike, Suzi' Blvd 50, 08 Sportster, 750 Laverda?.......caution...shipping's a b**ch!.... |

Title: Re: Drive Belt Pulley Q: Post by Toymaker on 10/28/08 at 04:42:27 My vote is 32 mm. Also, get an air powered impact gun while you are at it. It is sooooo easy to fire up the compressor and buzz that nut right off....and then to buzz it right back on...and yep...thems washers were designed by a disgruntled Japanese Colonel name "Howiscruyu" :) |

Title: Re: Drive Belt Pulley Q: Post by justin_o_guy2 on 10/28/08 at 22:56:04 and a wrought iron makeshift ramp Soon as the wood goes to heck, Ill make another plea for a welder & torch..I wonder if that tailgate/ramp will handle an F150? |
