As for the dryer,,,10 miles at 60 mph should do the trick... ;) Just Kidding,,, my neighbor has a small power washer he uses to wash his bike. He offered to let me use it anytime. Might take him up on the offer this summer. |

They have better soap, for when the bike is really oily. Why would you blow dry it? Like the man said, doesn't the wind take care of that for you? Just use your knee to dry the seat off a little, jump on, and gooooooo! On the Philipsburg trip last summer, I pulled into a gas station in the last town I'd come to and asked where a car wash was. I was sitting ON my bike when I asked the attendant. She gave me directions... to a tunnel wash. What a maroon. Had to drive all over Missoula looking for a hand wash. |

I kid you not. Paul Sr. visited a buddy who owns a car wash, they were prototyping a bike wash unit. Ride the bike up to the wash platform, shut it off and put in neutral. They had a platform clamp/stand that held the center of the bike, the front/back wheels were slowly rotated by a moving conveyor belt. Robotic sprayers rotated around the bike and rinsed, soaped, rinsed again, then Rain-Xed for a water repellant finish, then blow dried to get most of the water out. I was skeptical about water getting into the electricals, but they did show the bike starting right back up afterwards. Also skeptical about this so-called "Rain-X" being sprayed onto everything including the windscreen on the bike. Thought you couldn't do that with regular Rain-X on a polycarbonate windscreen/windshield. -Pabst |
