Title: Anyone Else have Trouble Posting Pics From Flickr?
Post by Southpaw on 06/04/10 at 11:10:55

I just noticed yesterday that all problems I've had posting pictures lately were hosted on my flickr account. Put the exact same picture on my bikepics account and bingo! pic took the first time! Trouble is, not everything I store is bikepic related and hate to take up their space. Where do you all host from when the pictures AREN'T specifically bike related? (like building my camp frame or the "you and your cage, dog etc." things that were going around) I'm thinking flickr is becoming too much of a hassle when I want to share with other forums!

I use bikepics. I just put anything non motorcycle related in my personal photo folder instead of my savage folder.

I have my own domain.  Or six.  One of which is http://savageriders.com

Allowed people to use their sub-domain, such as http://babyhog.savageriders.com

But no one remembers and were not kicking in the $5 a year so I something ended back yet another orphan, another $100.

http://Reelthing.savageriders.com is about the only person here remembers them, like this one:
http://reelthing.savageriders.com/pics/savage/wduck1.JPG

So if you want a Windows "Network Place" I can set up your name.ridersavage.com own place complete with your name@savageriders.com for your own e-mail to boot.

I have seen a lot of photos from photobucket and Flickr disappear, replaced by a "this photo moved" or "account inactive"  message.  I used to have a photobucket account, but didn't log in often enough (or missed some other requirement) so none of those pics show up anymore.

I think the best free image host site is tinypic.com.  No account required, they give you the [IMG] string to post straight into your post, and so far no images I uploaded have been dropped.  Simple and reliable.

Of course the most reliable thing is to pay for your own server space like Paladin does.  I rent some myself but I'm too lazy to use it.
