Title: my new ride Post by marine5317 on 07/22/10 at 17:30:38 http://p1.bikepics.com/pics/2010/07/22/bikepics-2024212-800.jpg 2010 Triumph Bonneville T-100 I had my 2007 S40 for 2 years and really loved it. I thought I would try 1 more bike as I am 74 and this makes number 10 so I'll probably quit after this one. I have to say that this is the smoothest bike I've ever ridden. Ride Safe Marine5317 |

Title: Re: my new ride Post by marine5317 on 07/22/10 at 18:03:20 Bill, I am saying that everything about the bike, the way that it shifts, the smoothness of the engine and the way that it rides and handles. Ride Safe Marine5317 |

Title: Re: my new ride Post by mick on 07/23/10 at 12:27:34 nice looking bike,It's good to see the Brits can still make a good looking bike, when they want to. Side by side with Harley the harley would not stand a chance, and costs twice as much. |

the harley sportster 883 which is what would compete with the Triumph Bonneville with the about 800 CC engine is actually cheaper than a Triumph, the Triumph still blows the harley out of the water though in performance but you are paying about $1700 more |
Title: Re: my new ride Post by mick on 07/24/10 at 05:58:44 do the pistons still fire at the same time ? As I recall they used to ,and it caused lots of not so good vibrations. |

My owners manual shows 270 degrees for the T-100. It runs smooth as a sewing machine. In fact I've already changed my muffs to Stainless Ride which look the same but have a deep throaty sound as the are straight though. i haven't noticed and big gain in performance but now it dosen't sound like a sewing machine. Title: Re: my new ride Post by Midnightrider on 07/24/10 at 07:27:21 Congrats. I've owned 3 of the new age Triumphs. In my opinion they are the best built motorcycles. I'm sure she will serve you well. |
Title: Re: my new ride Post by bill67 on 07/24/10 at 17:34:41 Triumph motors cycles say the Bonny fires at 360,the American at 270 which should be smoother and torquer. |

Title: Re: my new ride Post by drharveys on 07/25/10 at 18:05:38 The manual that came with my '06 says Bonneville, T-100 and Thruxton are all 360, and the America and Speedmaster are 270. Doesn't list the Scrambler, which I believe is also a 270 degree engine. Of course, that was when they still had carburetors, not EFI with carbie-looking covers! And you're preaching to the choir about the Bonnie! http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/drharveys/Triumph/DSC00744.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/drharveys/Triumph/DSC00737.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/drharveys/Triumph/TriumphantEspresso.jpg I've swapped the shocks for Hagons, and added a Supeerbrace fork brace. Now they have a Superbrace that's made for fork gaiters, which not only look retro-cool, but they keep the crud out of the fork seals! |
Title: Re: my new ride Post by bill67 on 07/25/10 at 18:20:56 If you look at horsepower and torque figures you will see the 270 is at lower rpm tan the 360,And the T-100 is the higher rpm figures. Go to Triumphs home page and you can see it all,I seen the page marine said and it says what he said, but I think its a mistake. |
