Title: Looking for Poly Butyl Cuprysil Grease
Post by Digger on 10/06/10 at 22:09:44

I'm not having any luck here.

I'm looking for Poly Butyl Cuprysil (PBC) grease for a top secret project I'm working on.

Does anyone know where I can get some of this stuff?

TIA!

Hey!...I was just askin', today,... Where's Digger ?...

Ahhh,  ... and,... I have no idea where you get Polly wanna' cupcake grease...

Psst?... So what's the top secret project?... :-?...

(EDIT)... did a search and found this...

Quote:
The Nissan 350z manual calls for PBC (Poly Butyl Cuprysil) grease for the pad pins and back of pads on the Brembo calipers. The problem is that I can't find this grease anywhere.

Actually I could get it from a Nissan Parts counter at a local dealership, but it's $60 for a big tub and isn't even in stock.

I'm sure you Googled, but I came up with this:

Quote:
... I was reading in the manual that it called for Poly Butyl Cuprysil (PBC) grease to be used on the back of the pads. Let me tell you, that stuff is really hard to find. The Infiniti dealer had it for $65 for a 16oz bottle. A little to expensive when the manual only calls for .018oz in the front and .056oz in the rear. It only has to go between the shim and the pad and on the side of the pad. Plus the stuff contains lead, which can give you cancer. Well, i didn't want to go deal with that stuff, so I went on a search to find a replacement product. I finally came across a product by 3M. It is called Brake Lube/Anti-seize and has almost all the same ingredents as PBC grease; it just substitutes graphite for lead with is much safer to deal with. Well, the 3M stuff has been working great. ..
 here's the page:  http://www.mygfrenzy.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-7119.html

I also asked around at work because we have some guys with some really specialized knowledge.  One guy came up with "Lubrication Engineers" who makes alot of the ingredients for OTC products, but couldn't find anything on their website quickly.  You may have better luck with them.  Let us know if you find it!  And good luck!

Gee, Honey, yea, I hear it, but its not hurtin anything & it only Does it when youre backing up.

I fixed it & didnt hafta buy any fancy schmancy grease,, cool, huhh?

You Could have just flushed all the old brake fluid out & put a 50/ 50 mix of sea foam & klotz in it & it would stop makin noise AND ya get the Zero Wear Guarantee on your brakes,. I dont know WHY you people do anything w/o askin me or Bill. Sometimes I just wanna give UP..
