Title: SOGDOW
Post by jef.savage on 10/21/10 at 07:44:42

As I have started breaking out more and more cool weather gear it occurred to me that those of us who don't do ATGATT need our own acronym.  I wear Some Of the Gear, Depending On Weather.
SOGDOW

I am a 12/7/365 SOTGATT: ride only during daylight hours (12) every dry day at 40F or above (hopefully -7)  self explanatory (365) SOTGATT = Some Of The Gear All The Time = boots, pants (jeans or 100% cotton work pants), shirt (long or short sleeve depending on the temp), helmet, gloves.......hi vis vest when hot - hi vis coat with removeable liner as it gets colder......

SIWISID,... Sometimes I wear it, sometimes I don't... ;D...

MOTGITWO,...  Most of the gear, if the weathers okay... ;D...

ATGICS,... All the gear I can stand... ;D...

SEROWBOT,.. Sorta' every ride, only without being overly toasted... :-?...

To each their own. I can say again and again, I had no road rash at all when I had my accident 7 months ago.
I know what it is to  not only fall but to slide on pavement.

Maybe you will never go down, yet chances are you will at least once.
I am a firm believer in not only atgatt but ff helmets as well..
My ff kept my jaw from being broken. And belive me when I tell you I hit the pavement hard.

I retell about my accident due to hopefully preventing the same thing happening to one or more of you.

Yes my accident would have happened regardless of whether I had full gear on or not. But my injuries would have been more severe had I not had all my gear on..
My 2 cents worth on the subject.. :) kim

That's when I switched from full face to flip up! at 25 degrees it became "instant ice sculpture"! Not a pretty sight or a manageable condition! :P
