Title: gunpowder
Post by mick on 11/04/10 at 00:22:41

Remember remember the 5th of November, gunpowder treason and plot.  Just thought I would remind any Brits here to celebrate Guy Fawks day tomorrow, light up a little bonfire and to burn him in effogy, let off some fireworks. Then you have done your duty.
Don't  forget Serowbot .

I know all about Guy Fawkes and it reminds me of Sacco and Vanzetti.

Framed innocents in both circumstances, except that Guy Fawkes lived in a civilized country so they burned him at the stake... :P

So much for living in a civilized country.

Sorry, Mick, but I just couldn't let you get away with that... :-X

In 1925 Celestino Madeiros, a Portuguese immigrant, confessed to being a member of the gang that killed Frederick Parmenter and Alessandro Berardelli. He also named the four other men, Joe, Fred, Pasquale and Mike Morelli, who had taken part in the robbery. The Morelli brothers were well-known criminals who had carried out similar robberies in area of Massachusetts. However, the authorities refused to investigate the confession made by Madeiros.

They refused to investigate & clear the names of men railroaded & murdered by the state.

Fawkes was captured while watching over his stash of gunpowder, that was placed under the Parliment building intending to blow it up.
He was tortured until he broke, then setanced to be hanged drawn and quartered,he elected to jump from the scaffold rather than face the drawing and quartering, not very pleasant,I believe it hurt like he11,  more if you laughed.
