Title: Any Springsteen fans?
Post by babyhog on 11/22/10 at 13:11:04

Found this story about Bruce Springsteen's new album coming out
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/51942/232004?cnn=yes

I've always been a big fan.  Best show I've ever seen live.  Rupp Arena, Lexington, Kentucky, 1984.  Wow, still have great memories of that one.

Can even listen to some of the tracks here:

You feel that is a valid question?
The Boss is still the Boss.

Wouldn't call myself a fan, but did see him play at a club not too far from me called the stone pony. Girlfriend and me were walking down the boardwalk and he happened to join Clarence onstage when he was doing solo stuff on the outside stage. We watched from the boardwalk, and I enjoyed it. Also photographed him a couple of times; once when he was signing autographs at record store and another time at a charity event. Him and his wife were leaning over an old woman seated at a table. Before we started shooting them I noticed that you could see right down his wife's top. Nothing between her boobs and her shirt. I asked the PR person to tell her quietly before the photogs started. She did, and she stood up.

Also did a portrait of his violin player soozie tyrel. She was nice, and very pretty.

They were well preserved, so I thought I would lend a hand (pun intended). What can I say, I'm a gentlemen and the tabloids would've had a field day with those pictures,

You are right about the lies, seems just about every war is based on lies ,even WW11 in America's case with the japs bombing PH I think the president knew about it.
I must dislike the boss for another reason,cant sing ? I don't know, and I don't care.

I liked some of Hello from Asbury park.

Born in the USA? Does anyone really think he wrote that because he so loves the country?

Or because someone told him if he'd write some "repetitive enough to qualify as torture" it would get the play to go Up the Charts.. Cuz that song stright up stunk, baaaabeee..

I think a post about Springsteen and his music has no choice but to turn to politics since Springsteen turns himself that way at any opportunity. When you use your music and concerts to jump into the pool and push a political agenda/party, you can't not hope to get wet.

But the thing I always thought was funny was when Chrysler wanted to use Born in the USA in their commericals. Didn't they listen to the lyrics? Don't they know who Springsteen is? He obviously said no but who's the idiot in Chrysler's marketing department that thought that was a good idea...........

Point taken, that's why I asked nicely not to take it in that direction.  I was only trying to share with possible fans that he had an album coming out.

But whatever!  Bash his politics however you want.  He is still a brilliant musician.

Got to see one at the Specrtum in Philly and the other a Laurel Race track years ago. Loved them both and would pay my hard earned money to see them both again. I can't remember which one I had the hots for more. They were my two favorite things, rock and roll and motorcycles. ;D

babyhog, not a FAN, but I do like a few of his songs. Streets of philadelphia is one.

Heck, I admit there are plenty of his songs that I don't like either.  I prefer his early 80's and earlier stuff.  He has had many sounds (and looks) throughout the years.  Looked like a friggin hobo in the early years, then he got all prim and proper when he was married to Julianne whats-her-face.  His sound evolved, his writing style has seen changes, his subject matter has seen changes.  He really isn't all that great "technically" as a singer.  But the man can play a sweet harmonica!  61 years old and been rockin since his early 20's.

Springsteen in my local newspaper today: http://www.app.com/article/20101123/NEWS/11230330/Springsteen-jams-with-local-band-at-Woody-s-Tavern-in-Farmingdale

As far as a human being, the man is quite generous. He's donated a Shite load of money to local charities over the years.
