I get more use and value out of the coffee pot than those ICBMs in the ground in the mid west. When are we actually going to use a few? Let the world see that we actually mean what we say...for the first time since 1945. |
Title: Re: North vs South Korea Post by Lupo on 11/23/10 at 21:01:19 Some of you have been so comfy in your fuzzy slippers dreaming up conspiracy theorys and don't realize it's because we've been there since 1950 http://www.usfk.mil/usfk/. As you run around the countryside chasing butterflies and bitching about our country people in other parts of the world worry about getting blown up at the local train station or being drug off to prison for complaining about their government. Go take another hit off your bong and thank our military and terrible government for keeping you comfy. I'd like to add, the small group of bitchy libs here are like no other motorcycle forum around yet seem to dominate most posts. I had to say something though I tried to hold back but some of you heavy thinkers are very irritating. |

Title: Re: North vs South Korea Post by mpescatori on 11/24/10 at 09:55:58 Funny how Lupo thinks I'm sitting on my hands waiting for Mr.Goodbar coming to save lil'ol'me, and somebody else thinks I'm clever. 1) The US have been on Italian soil since 1943, and don't look like they want to leave. There's no reason to stay, but the food and the climate and the tax cuts and the local population are evidently preferable to whatever other option is available. 2) Italy has always had a "soft" approach to the Middle East, as both the Israeli Government and AlFatah have repeatedly acknowledged; this does not mean "sissy", it means "talk softly" to people rather than screaming "gung ho" at the top of your lungs in their faces. Yes, I do think I'm clever. I also think I have an acceptable sense of humor, I accept irony when it doesn't become an offensive stereotype, and have swallowed my dose of other people's sarcasm. But I still like this forum and the Savage Riders that support it. ... I can also read and write... ;) workin'hard on my maff... :D |

Lupo, Personally I think you stepped way out of line there. Very few Italians were nazi's, and for your information the British were more involved with the Italians in the African campagne, than Americans,For most Italians there hearts were not in it. They can be great soldiers for the right cause ( see the mighty Roman Empire) Romans were Italians. We had thousands of italian POWs in England ,for the most part they were left to there own devices, grew there own food, a very few escaped ,and if they did it was to run off with an English gal, German POWs were sent to Canada, there only mission in life was to kill Yanks and Limeys. Col.Pescatori is NOT a snob, being English I can tell you what a snob is. Stand at ease Lupo. |
Title: Re: North vs South Korea Post by Lupo on 11/25/10 at 11:03:11 With respect Mick, I don't feel I am out of line. From previous posts that Maurizio has done and this last remark I feel compelled to respond. He states at times he really enjoyed his time in the U.S. and always ends with but...and a vile remark about our country. Our Government and Military are lesser then primitive natives and sticks. I didn't say his countrymen were Nazi only that they were aligned and of course our greatest friends, the British, were also spilling blood to liberate Italy. As you know I adore Italian machinery and of course the culture and people. I would never call the choices they make for Government stupid because I don't live in their house. It's not my call. J-O-G or Bill or whoever has as much right as me or any other American citizen to slam American policy and express disagreements but I don't accept it the same from Maurizio. Especially in the sarcastic way he states his view. For these reasons I will continue to consider him ( not Italians ) as an ungrateful snob. A bit of backup for my point: http://dartmouth.org/classes/53/archives/FromItaly_Mussolini.php |
Title: Re: North vs South Korea Post by mpescatori on 11/25/10 at 11:52:44 Lupo, I'm not eager to get into a spitting contest with you, I don't even know you ! What can I say ? I learned to shoot with a .22 carbine in the US - they did that in the Boy Scouts of America in those days. I also remember doing my "Nuclear Alert Exercise" more or less once a month - they did that in Fairfax and Arlington Counties in those days. I also remember many other things, some good, some not so good, some outright bad. I do not slam at the US Government, I simply point out the disconnect between the general perception of events as they are protrayed in the US and how they are portrayed in Europe. I point out the discrepancies between what you are told and what really is. I point out there are many shades of grey between shocking white and pitch black. Italians were Fascists ? Do you even know how the fascist movement even started? Are you aware that the US has unknowingly (I say this for the benefit of the good faith of the US Lawmakers) been pushing those same policies in these last 12-15 years, as Italy had been in the last dozen before Mussolini rose to power? Have you ever heard of a historian and politician/philosopher of the Reneissance, by the name of Giambattista Vico? I don't expect you to, but he is the first to have written an essay on the "Recurrence of Historical Events". Do I hate the US ? Possibly as much as a teenager hates his Mother. He will disagree with her to the point of raising his voice in frustration, but Mother is still Mother. Why am I calling the US "Mother"? Because that's where I developed my political awareness and thoughts. 'nuff ? :) |
Title: Re: North vs South Korea Post by tcreeley on 11/25/10 at 15:29:20 When we attacked North Korea in the 1950's it was wrong - none of our business. We couldn't win then. Stalemate and death was all we accomplished. The US loves to spend money- on weapons and war. If we don't attack someone, then no war money is spent. Simple economics- rich get richer, soldiers die. Propaganda machine works overtime. US taxpayers pay the bill. We do this with prisons too. The US has the highest incarceration rate in the world and the most violent population. The stench of garbage here is pretty bad. GOP + Dems. Can they talk us into another war. They are trying to with Iran. In the 1960's we prepared for nuclear war with Russia. China was the "red menace". What has all of this given us? Honor? Viet Nam - death and atrocities- agent orange - sick GI's. None of it is worth it. All of the unseen coffins returning fro IRAQ - why? This is not a "Jimmy Stewart" world folks. Somebody is stealing our tax money and spinning us a line of BS. It cuts across both parties. >:( |
Title: Re: North vs South Korea Post by tcreeley on 11/25/10 at 15:39:17 I respect the Italian government for trying to arrest our US CIA agents who were involved in kidnapping who they wanted to -for rendition and torture. (couple years ago) Folks- authority does not make someone right. The US has repeatedly engaged in shameful acts and lied about it. Bush still claims waterboarding is not torture. -sickos. Berlusconi- Bush - Merkel - Sarkozy - Blair, different abilities- but all bad people. >:( |
Title: Re: North vs South Korea Post by mick on 11/25/10 at 15:56:10 you got that right Mr tcreeley. Polititions will never fight them selves, just send in the sheeple |

I'll tell you more. The Director of the Military Secret service was uncloaked, accused of "looking the other way" and charged with being an accessory to the unlawful kidnaping and incarceration in a foreign Country, accused of contempt of the Court because he would not answer the magistrates' questions, tried and eventually discharged in the 1st degree trial on the grounds "he could not disclose secrets relevant to national Security - raison d'etat". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extraordinary_rendition_by_the_United_States As the investigations and trial covered many years, all this happened under both Berlusconi, a "Republican" by US standardsm, and Romano Prodi, by all means a "Democrat" (actually a Christian Socialist) So the US Government and the CIA happily cooperated with an Italian Socialist Government. :-X http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imam_rapito_affair Of course, he never went to jail - we are talking about a 4-star general who served his Country in one of the most delicate jobs ever. As for Lupo and his remarks on kissing Nazi boots, you are evidently a very happy man, extremely lucky, you have never lived in a Country occupied by foreign powers. Italy has been under foreign powers ever since the demise of the Roman Empire, until 1918. Then, again, from 1943 to this very day. All you underline is your ignorance of history and your contempt for the defeated. You seem to forget Italy is one of the founding member States of NATO. You seem to forget we fought on the same side in WW1 - and that the US deployed ALL its Divisions on the French-UK front under General Pershing (in the spring of 1918). The "Italian Contingent" of the US Army in Italy was... 1 (one) Regiment deployed in June 1918, compared to the 55 Divisions deployed by the Italians against the 60 Austrian Divisions. You seem to forget we fought on the same side during the Civil War - Garibaldi deployed an Italian Regiment to fight with the US (Northern) Troops. Mind you, Italian Regiments were the equivalent of half a US Division, they had their own artillery and engineer support, which US Brigades lacked. So no, I do not "slam" at anybody, I simply say things the way they are. I may seem too direct, and Verslagen, Paladin, Lancer, Mick, JOG, Starlifter, old time friends, have often corrected my "too openly frank" approach. On the other hand, I do not recall ever being told "you are wrong" or "you lie". |
