Title: Savage is 25 years old Post by fishinjim on 01/15/11 at 08:54:32 The Suzuki Savage/Boulevard 40 has been around for 25 years. Wonder how many other bikes have been in production that long? I have also noticed that there have been very few changes during that time so they must have done it right. Suzuki is a great motorcycle co. I have owned several going back to 1967, and loved everyone of them. The Savage is my first 4 stroke since the Cushman Eagle back in 1961. I always wanted a big thumper, and it does not dissapoint. The only recommendation I could make would be for 1 more gear for freeway riding, and a more comfortable seat. ;D |

Title: Re: Savage is 25 years old Post by fishinjim on 01/15/11 at 10:31:11 my drivers license should say vintage on it also. When Texas got too many drivers for their numbering system they issued me a new one with 2 zeroes in front of the original number. I have had the motorcycle endorsement since they started requiring it in 69 or 70. DL goes back to 59. |
Title: Re: Savage is 25 years old Post by MotoBuddha on 01/15/11 at 10:59:53 The KLR650 was introduced in 1987 and is essentially the same bike, with minor changes over the years. And though not sold in the US anymore the Honda C110 and CT110 have been around since 1980 and trace their beginnings back to when they were 90cc bikes in the '60s. |
Title: Re: Savage is 25 years old Post by PerrydaSavage on 01/16/11 at 03:32:35 Honda CMX250 Rebel has been around essentially unchanged since 1985 ... is it still available for 2011 model year? |
Title: Re: Savage is 25 years old Post by JohnBoy on 01/16/11 at 05:25:32 How about the CB750 Honda 1969-2003 in this country and I think they still sell it in Japan |
Title: Re: Savage is 25 years old Post by MotoBuddha on 01/16/11 at 07:56:56 But the CB750 went through some major changes. For example, the engine was completely changed from SOHC to DOHC, all new frame, etc. |
Title: Re: Savage is 25 years old Post by Drifter on 01/28/11 at 12:00:16 The Vulcan/ninja 500 has been around since 1984. I do believe honda dropped the Rebel....why i dont know. Europe and Asia has some great little bikes and they sell cheap there less than 2 grand for a cool New little bike? |
