Title: Warning Post by Lupo on 03/23/11 at 09:10:10 After less then 25 miles of use a new SuperTrapp silencer purchased from Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse fell apart. I called MAW and was told to speed things along it's best to deal directly with the manufacturer SuperTrapp, who said they (SuperTrapp) would arrange a pick up through UPS. After not hearing anything for a week I called back again and was informed nothing had been done yet. To speed things along because the motorcycle is inoperable without a muffler I agreed to send in the entire unit. After checking the postal delivery confirmation I realized SuperTrapp had received the package several days prior yet not called. I called and was told I should have gone through MAW and not SuperTrapp but could get replacement parts but they don't have any and are waiting to hear from their supplier which would be 2-3 weeks. Displeased with the delay I asked if a lessor priced unit could be sent and was told yes. After a week and a half and not hearing from SuperTrapp or UPS, I decided to call and inquire. Nothing had been done and already 2 months of time and $187 with return shipping and no product in my possession. I have called MAW to try and resolve this dispute and feel they are ultimately responsible since I bought the product from them. With regard to purchasing anything ever again from Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse or SuperTrapp, I strongly will advise others to look elsewhere. |

Title: Re: Warning Post by Serowbot on 03/23/11 at 09:53:50 Yup,.. Gerry has a Supertrapp, and while he likes the tone, it has been a series a problems. Bolts seize no matter what you do, welds have broke, rattles, and packing blows out every six months or so. (requiring you to fight the seized bolts, and break more welds to replace)... Way too pricey for such poor construction, in my opinion... |
Title: Re: Warning Post by justin_o_guy2 on 03/23/11 at 11:07:56 Mines working okay, not aware of crap flying around in it, only downside is those bolts do seize up & swappin baffles is not a fun moment, Yea, WAY too expensive to be shabby crap.. What fell apart? |
Title: Re: Warning Post by verslagen1 on 03/23/11 at 11:27:40 I've always applied anti-seize to mine and still had trouble with the baffle bolts. Untill I took a drill to the disks and openned the bolt holes. The 'nuts' on the baffle can be replaced with a HF kit. Although they spin if you can't get them tight enough. Never had any trouble with the shell though. |
Title: Re: Warning Post by Serowbot on 03/23/11 at 12:00:37 Wassa' HF kit?... :-?... |

Title: Re: Warning Post by Lupo on 03/23/11 at 23:18:55 The power of the internet...I posted this letter on 7 different forums this morning and low and behold. After ignoring my messages and threats for a month and a half, this afternoon I have received 3 emails and 2 phone messages that my money has been refunded to my PAYPAL account. Imagine that! It's not slander if it's true. I still would like to stress the poor customer service of these company's and remind you that we as consumers can make a difference if we're wronged. |
Title: Re: Warning Post by Arnold on 03/24/11 at 07:15:01 If we stick together, it pays to rant... Still, glad I bought a cheap screamin eagle on eBay. |
