Title: KIKKER 5150 Post by Chopped on 04/09/11 at 10:28:47 Anyone have any experience with these things? http://www.kikker5150.com/hardknock.html |
Title: Re: KIKKER 5150 Post by houstonbofh on 04/09/11 at 11:43:44 I saw a couple of guys with Hard Knockers. The look very cool! But... They said at highway speeds they buzz so much you think parts are going to fall off. The bolts are cheap enough that they actually do fall off... But if you upgrade all the hardware, and use it only as a bar hopper, they are fun. For the work, I would rather make a bobber. |
Title: Re: KIKKER 5150 Post by Chopped on 04/09/11 at 14:09:19 well I was thinking about picking one up and changing out the motor for a savage motor! |
Title: Re: KIKKER 5150 Post by Paladin. on 04/09/11 at 17:10:19 A legal registered street ready used Savage can be bought for about $1K. *WHY* would you want a toy that is made from the cheapest parts he can find? |
Title: Re: KIKKER 5150 Post by jef.savage on 04/09/11 at 20:03:38 Why not start with one of these instead? http://www.johnnypagapparel.com/products/Johnny-Pag-Motorcycle-Bobber-Rolling-Chassis-Rigid-Frame-.html |
Title: Re: KIKKER 5150 Post by justin_o_guy2 on 04/09/11 at 20:07:52 lets just say that the parts & service are Excellent... What ya got invested? & for what? a 125 CC POWER Plant You can have a 650 & learn how to make it go well & stay alive for some pretty easy money... |
Title: Re: KIKKER 5150 Post by Chopped on 04/09/11 at 21:44:06 I just like tinkering and using them for the frames is pretty cheap as far as that goes anyhow. I have looked at the Johnny Pag stuff... not bad bikes either! |
Title: Re: KIKKER 5150 Post by Stimpy - FSO on 04/10/11 at 01:05:00 ...yup, as expensive as a savage but still pretty cool toy, does adding the turn-light kit make them street legal? |
Title: Re: KIKKER 5150 Post by justin_o_guy2 on 04/10/11 at 02:44:16 I knew a guy in Minnesota who had a J. Pag bike. He liked it pretty good. |
Title: Re: KIKKER 5150 Post by Chopped on 04/10/11 at 08:13:10 a bike doesn't have to have turn signals (all states differ) to be street legal! |
Title: Re: KIKKER 5150 Post by Demin on 04/10/11 at 15:42:55 D O N O T D O I T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Go to www.bobbertalk.com and read all about him and his JUNKand all the people he has burned. You won't see a bad thing on his website, because he will delete and ban you if you say anything negative about him or his bikes. |
Title: Re: KIKKER 5150 Post by Chopped on 04/10/11 at 16:59:15 Im not concerned about that. I just figured for under 3k I can get a darn good start on another bobber. I just want it for the cheap frame and accessories. All issues that have been mentioned or easy for me to fix unless its the ones about him and his orders and shipping! I buy once and thats that! |
Title: Re: KIKKER 5150 Post by Savage_Amusement on 04/10/11 at 17:31:10 There was a guy on here that was selling hard tailed bobber frames that were already set up for the S40 motor, maybe you should look into that. I honestly can't remember the guys name though. |
Title: Re: KIKKER 5150 Post by Chopped on 04/11/11 at 15:13:26 I may have to look into it! |
Title: Re: KIKKER 5150 Post by EJID on 04/11/11 at 15:17:01 Voodoo was the guy doing the frames and one off setups. Currently he has this posted in RSD http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1302538089 |
Title: Re: KIKKER 5150 Post by John_D FSO on 04/11/11 at 19:55:50 There were some people that showed up on a few of them last summer at the races at PIR. They look neat, but I'm not sure how I'd like the suicide shift setup. :-/ http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/redneck72102/PIR%20car%20pics/DSCF0464.jpg Another neat engine swap that was there was this Cushman with a 250cc V-twin in it. It even sounded great! http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/redneck72102/PIR%20car%20pics/DSCF0319.jpg |
