Title: very Important U.S. House bill needs our support Post by BAM4k on 04/29/11 at 07:54:57 Follow the link below and read about House Bill H.R. 904. We need to tell our congressmen and women that we will not stand for this type of discrimination against motorcycle riders. http://capwiz.com/amacycle/issues/alert/?alertid=33070516 |

Title: Re: very Important U.S. House bill needs our suppo Post by Reelthing on 04/29/11 at 11:24:29 I do have a question for folks - seems quite a few that ride are also supporters of helmet laws - so this is just a natural move in that direction to also inspect your helmet for DOT rating, check your tires, measure the exhaust noise, handle bar height, and such to make you safe instead of leaving it to personal responsibility to maintain the margin of saftey we accept. So how are these check points any different than helmet laws ? |
Title: Re: very Important U.S. House bill needs our suppo Post by houstonbofh on 04/30/11 at 08:31:55 Helmet laws are a codified requirement. Checkpoints are a detainment and interruption. They stop and detain people who have violated no law. That said, I favor helmets, and oppose helmet laws. This crap above? I will not be spending any money in Georgia any time soon... |
