Title: Tattoos
Post by Z on 06/12/11 at 16:10:49

Another post mentioned "bikers" & tattoos. SO do you have any? What and where? I have 3 with another one soon to come (I hope). I have 1 on my right hip, 1 on my left ankle and 1 on the back of my right shoulder. The one on my right hip is a ScoobyDoo head.  Full color. Someday I want to get his body added to complete him. It was my first tat and I wasn't sure if I could handle it so I stayed small. Turns out I have no trouble with tats.  ;D The one on my ankle is a tribal heart with my two daughters' initials in it. It is black with purple accents. The one on my shoulder blade is the Goddess Bastet. Also in full color-just gorgeous. I love tattoos. How about you? whatcha got? :)
This is my Goddess when she was brand spanking new. http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/Zaney1/Tatoos/DSC00171.jpg
Here is my tribal when it was new. http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/Zaney1/Tatoos/Tattoos20005.jpg
I finally found a pic of my Scooby! I got it back in '01 before we had a digital camera. It's pretty small. http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/Zaney1/Tatoos/SkubieduTattoo6-25-01.jpg

Very nice tat!
I don't have any, haven't seen anything I would want on me...forever anyways.

Where your Goddess Bastet is, I have a hummingbird with long flowing tails.  On the opposite shoulder blade is my first tat, a rose. They are somewhat faded since they are both over 10 years old.  I've been thinking about a third lately... wanting an ice cream cone on my ankle.  I wanted hubby to get something with me like linked wedding bands, but haven't been able to talk him into it.  He has a marine eagle on his upper arm.  Only name I would ever get tattooed would be the son I gave birth to.  My son has one around his ribs, just writing that says "Tomorrow is never promised"

What's the meaning behind the Goddess Bastet?  It is beautiful, I've never seen one. I suppose I can look it up.

I have a few. My 1st one, I gave to myself when I was in high school, just my girlfriends name. Next one was a skull when I was i the marines. Then a lions head followed by a full lion. Then came a griffin. And my daughter and grand daughters names and birthdates. I've fallen behind because i have two grandsons to get added to the list. On and I forgot the feathers on my calf.

I used to want one, back when tattoos were macho...
Now that more girls have them than guys,...  the urge is gone...

Besides that,... I get tired of the same pictures on the wall...

In ten years,... they're gonna' be the bell bottoms that you can't take off... :-?...

Did I mention, I'm not a fan?...  ;D...

Sorry,.. I must be male PMS'ing... :-?...

No Tats, no desire as of now anyways..
Daughter has 5 and wishes she had
never had 4 of them.
Really haven't never seen one yet that
made me want to have it on my skin.
Possibly someday when I go thru
the change of life, I may change my
mind. :-/  kim

They are "skin illustrations"- quote from Ray Bradbury's "Illustrated Man".

No tattoos for me never even thought about getting one.

I have five:
A doodle I drew on my upper back
A water polo ball with a black swirl around it on my left pec
Skull and cross swords on my right ribs
Pirate ship on my left hip
Revolver on my right thigh

The only one I somewhat regret (and even then not really) getting is the one I got first, the doodle on my back. Conveniently I can't see my back, so it doesn't bother me. Still worth getting.

I'm fairly fickle myself, but my tattoos either represent a milestone in my life or a phase that i've gone through. If i'm no longer in that phase, I'm still ok having the tattoo as a kind of timeline. Even if it was like a scar ("see how stupid I was back in the day?"). Good for a story if nothing else.

I have one... got it 15-20 years ago (in honor of someone special).

A bald eagle in flight with feet/talons extended clouds in background, located on the left side of my chest.

Will be getting another one soon, as soon as my sisters choose a design.  It will be a pink ribbon in support of our sister who is fighting breast cancer.

my MOTHER got a butterfly on her left boob when she was +60 freakin rebelious woman!...my son has his initials on his upper rt arm and guns pointing at "manland" on his stomach - what a doofus! asked him how he planned to explain those to his kid when he got old enough to ask daddy what that means!.......ok in the right place and tastefully done maybe - ok I have saved at least a dozen temp tattoos in my watch list on ebay - just to screw with the wife who hates them - thought i might get something truely EVIL (temp tat) and put in on while I am out for my Sunday-Cycle-Ride.....she would let me have it until she found out it washes off...I like practical jokes - not a fan of permanent ones.

but for those of you who like them and have them that is the path you chose - you can deal with the consiquences not me.

My tattoo was a choice I made because it took my wife and I several years to have a successful pregnancy. I got the two angels in the tattoo one on each side for the two miscarraiges we had before finally having out twins. I will not have one unless it has a meaning to me and symbolizes something I am permantly bonded too. My childrens names and birthdate symbolize the greatest day in my life and reminds me that prayers are answered. The angels represent a hard time in my life that I will never forget.

I have a tattoo on my right shoulder, called the sleeping eagle. This was done in red, white, and blue. There to honor my fellow veterans and my son, and those who choose to serve in this era. The tat of the two angels and your children's name is great.

Just 1 from armpit to hip. My last name "Montaño" written in ocean waves. To me it symbolizes 2 things I love. Family and the ocean.

No tatts for me ... my ex had a few and I liked 'em, just never had much of a desire to get inked m'self. Ironically, just today I was joking with a more "mature" student from this past weekend's MTP who successfully completed the Course and now awaiting his Honda Silverwing maxi-scoot to be delivered ... he (jokingly) asked me if I knew the name of a good tattoo artist, seeing as now that he was a "Biker" and had to get a tattoo to make it "official". I replied that yup, a tatt was in order and that SKULLS are the only option now that he has his Learners Permit! LOL!!

Nice ink everybody!!  [smiley=laugh.gif] I don't regret any of  mine. They all have a meaning to me. I waited for years to find just the right Scooby. I went though 400 tribal designs and then about 50 re-desgns of my tribal before I was sure. My Goddess,...well I fell in love with her at first sight but I did print a copy of her off in a bunch of different sizes and "tried" her on in different places to make sure of where I wanted her. I have never gone into a tattoo parlor without a cocrete plan of what I was getting, where I was getting it, what size, what colors, ect.

I have four, Lisa has 3.

Hers are a unicorn and fairy on her hip, inked by a friend of ours (the former Hell's Angel who officiated at our wedding, he's a pagan priest); and a dragon that covers almost the entire upper left 1/4 of her back. Start of a full back piece.

I have a Pawnee bear paw (beadwork style) in honor of a friend. A skull wearing an HD leather driver's cap, over crossed wrenches (in honor of a friend hit and killed by a drunk driver). A Harley flying eagle with Live to Ride, Ride to Live banner (grade school baseball coach died on his bike). A Jolly Roger with Confederate battle flag background, ripped and holed (girl I was married to was hit and killed on her Harley in 95 while I was active duty USN).

My backpiece to be was designed by David Mann back in the 70s. Biker skeleton in tattered leathers riding a chopped springer Panhead, headlight is an eyeball... Will take a couple hundred hours.

My little brother has either 24 or 28. He WAS going to be a teacher at the Jesuit prep school we attended. He may have more since he and his wife had triplets in December (all girls).

Dont have any. The only one I would/have ever considered would be a tribal band on upper arm.  But I am too cheap. Rather spend my extra cash on bike parts.  ;)

A tattoo of a gun aimed at his right temple?

The only tattoos that I have ever had were the ones that we got in gum as a kid.  You moistened them, and they stayed on until your next bath.  I noticed the other day that they are now selling them at the Harley Dealership.
