Title: Spray bottles... Post by Serowbot on 06/22/11 at 10:25:00 AhhhhhHHHH!!!.... I have about 6 of these bas*ards with a variety of liquids, and they don't spray anymore... Is there some secret trick to get them working again?... Geez!,... They can fake putting a man on the moon, but they can't make a squirter that squirts!... :-?... http://www.dirtworks.net/Images/hardgoods/spray-bottles.jpg |
Title: Re: Spray bottles... Post by Z on 06/22/11 at 10:38:18 What kind of liquid do you have in them? Some times the stuff gums up the works. With hairspray (yeah I know not bloody likely that you have hairspray in one ;D) , I pop off the sprayer part and scrub it in hot water. |
Title: Re: Spray bottles... Post by SuperSavage on 06/22/11 at 10:42:01 Try a little Seafoam... ;D |

Title: Re: Spray bottles... Post by Serowbot on 06/22/11 at 10:57:07 Bug spray, weed killer, etc... Two of them have spray cleaner in them,... and I'm saying,... "How the heck did they plug up?"... PS... I use my air-compressor to propel my hairspray... :-?... |
Title: Re: Spray bottles... Post by justin_o_guy2 on 06/22/11 at 11:07:47 Pop them in a sink O hot water & soak them a while, while theyre underwater,, pump the things a bit & see if they start movin water, then use a bit of mineral oil & lube theyze guts up a bit, |
Title: Re: Spray bottles... Post by Boofer on 06/22/11 at 11:53:02 Serowbot, you need a ride. First it's the heat rant, now you're goin' through the junk under the kitchen sink. ;D If they are not gummed or worn out you can sometime squeeze them while trying the sprayer. It forces the liquid into the tube and primes it. If this is in preparation for the fires in Az, I think you would be better advise to load up your "possibles" on the Suzuki and be ready to bug out. jmo |

Title: Re: Spray bottles... Post by babyhog on 06/22/11 at 13:00:05 I do what Z does... we must use the same kind of hairspray ;) I bet some hot water will loosen most anything that would be sprayed from a bottle like that. You might have to take apart the sprayer nozzle, and the hose, but I'm confident you can manage... I just bought 2 new ones, empty, at the dollar store for (guess how much!) $1.00 each!... Needed them for my plants, and couldn't find one under the sink that I felt could be cleaned well enough to not hurt the plants. Didn't even think about them being so gummed up they wouldn't spray anyway! |
Title: Re: Spray bottles... Post by JohnBoy on 06/24/11 at 13:06:59 You have to prime the pump! Put the nozzle in your mouth and suck on it while you pull the trigger a couple of times...works every time. |
Title: Re: Spray bottles... Post by weracerc on 06/24/11 at 13:15:08 being in the chemical business i can tell you from experience that the wrong squitter married to the wrong chemcial = the squiter seizes up - we have to buy one kind for solvents, another for cleaning solutions - at least 3 or 4 different ones based on what they will be used for all made out of slightly different klinds of plastics with different kinds of seals and different kinds of squitter guts......the problem is the basic squiter bottle at the store does say what it is made of so get pot luck.....no way to tell them apart unless you know thwe tricks of the trade and are willing to melt one to see how it reacts to tell what it is made from....not my bag but our chemist could tell you - he has to do all the testing and burning to determine which squitter will work with which product....major pain in the a$$$$$$$! |
Title: Re: Spray bottles... Post by Serowbot on 06/24/11 at 13:38:29 Booga!... I've screwed around enough now,.. I have no idea which squirt goes with which bottle... Looks like the pour method 'till they're empty... :-?... ;D ;D ;D... |
