Title: Painted fins.
Post by arteacher on 06/27/11 at 10:11:05

I painted the fins with a small roller and flat black BBQ paint. I think it looks a lot better, making the cylinder look larger and eliminating the "cheap" look of the stock fin treatment.http://p1.bikepics.com/pics/2011%5C06%5C27%5Cbikepics-2231399-800.jpg

The Corbin seat and forward controls look great. How well do they function? Do you get the dreaded pain in Coccyx with that seat and forward controls or does the seat remedy it.

I am planning on doing this eventually, yours looks great. What type of paint did you use?

interesting place for a tool bag - I like it - and the jug paint & overall look of the bike. A+

That is what I want to do to my bike. Please let us know. That is a good question.

BTW, I like the look of the fins too. Great job!

The seat is very comfy. After about 1000 mi it molds itself to you posterior. I can drive for two tanks worth (220 miles) before I have to stretch. The forward controls are great as well. I have a little arthritis in my hips so it was a bit difficult to haul my feet up to the pegs in their stock location. Very easy now.

I know I asked you before but this will seal the deal. Have to wait for Routy to restock the forward controls. Thanks Art!

Art, I know this is not on topic with your fins but do you have a shot of the bike from the back or the side. I want to see the clearance of the forward controls from the engine guard. I have a 9.5 shoe size. And while your at it, twirl for me. JK!

Thanks I appreciate it if you could do it.

I have size11 1/2 boots and they never touch the engine guard.

What is the model number of that Talisman bag set, do you remember?
Did you have to do anything to the signal lights?

Title: Re: Painted fins.
Post by splash07 on 06/28/11 at 05:50:36

Did you just clean it up and spray or was there a lot of sanding and prepping involved?

They are S107 compact slant bags. The company is local, and supplies to local bike shops as well as internet shopping. If I were you I would look for something in the states, as shipping across the border might be expensive. They were C$139. I did not have to move the signals.

You don't have
any problems swinging your foot around the guard?

Title: Re: Painted fins.
Post by arteacher on 06/28/11 at 10:52:09

My feet never come anywhere near the guard.http://p1.bikepics.com/pics/2011%5C02%5C10%5Cbikepics-2149546-800.jpg

Trust me, you won't have a problem. ;)

You've got a Superbrace too? Dang it, you've got it perfect! Where's the Raask?

Thanks art for taking the time. I really appreciate it. Routy just mailed out the forward controls for me. As soon as I get them on I'll test them out to see if I really need the seat. I'll keep everyone posted.

Just gotta say, for my taste, yours is one of my favorite bikes.  Love it all.  (man, I want a SuperBrace.  I like the looks of it better than the tkat)

Depends on how the bikes set up.. The Macho look of the Tkat looks at home on a good bobber.

Are bobbers macho looking.

That Raask exhaust is gorgeous. Where can I buy one?  A quick google and ebay search on my phone here didn't return anything.

I got rid of the stock drag bar in favor of a broomstick as I was leaning back too far to be comfortable. Now I lean forward a bit and am much more comfortable.
