Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by Midnightrider on 06/28/11 at 10:54:13 I just talked to Mick. He's doing well. His son is recovering but still has a ways to go. He will probably be in thereapy for the next year. |
Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by mick on 06/28/11 at 11:16:51 not me in therpy,my son. Yes I got back a few weeks ago but had to get over my depression,I hate leaving my kids knowing it will be another year before I see them, and at my age another year could be a bit iffy. I had a great time , and the mormons didn't try and recrute me, talk about flogging a dead horse. My kids chipped in and got me a little pistol fo Fathers day, most of you will recognize the "Ruger Mk 111" I allways wanted one because they look so much like the old german "Luger" and they are just to spendy. Did you know there is no waiting period in Utah ? you can walk in buy the gun and walk out with it, their is some form filling out ,but thats it. below is a picture of the little beast, the mags hold 10 shots. http://i495.photobucket.com/albums/rr311/mickrowe37/006-8.jpg http://i495.photobucket.com/albums/rr311/mickrowe37/005-8.jpg |
Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by babyhog on 06/28/11 at 11:40:08 Welcome home Mick. Missed ya! And that looks like one fun gun to shoot. I'd like to have one. Nice Father's Day gift, for a great daddy. |
Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by Serowbot on 06/28/11 at 11:53:01 Nice to hear from you, Mick!... Nice Ruger,... great gift... I have the same model in Stainless... they are great shooters...;)... I've bagged many a can and golf ball with that... ;D... |
Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by photojoe on 06/28/11 at 12:15:52 I have the 22/45 Target model. These are guns that will last a lifetime. Shoots Federal Bulk 525 HP's fine and at $19 a box, it's good when funds are low and I want to shoot a few hundred rounds at cans, jugs of all sorts, potatoes and other rotten veggies, fruits or foodstuffs 8-) |
Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by prechermike on 06/28/11 at 12:27:40 Mick, Serowbot, Joe and anyone else with that ruger, you NEED one of these: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31uCOBNyq5L._SX270_.jpg Here is a link to the website: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ItemDetail.aspx?sku=GNS127 I think I got mine from here, but there are other places I am sure. Be warned, however, it will cost you in the long run, you will burn alot more powder. I can shoot them out as fast as my buddy can load them. :D :D :D :D |
Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by Jerry Eichenberger on 06/28/11 at 12:44:06 Hey, Mick - Get your butt back on here - who am I going to trade barbs with without you, the master at it? Seriously, that pistol looks really cool. What's the caliber? |
Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by Serowbot on 06/28/11 at 12:45:09 That's a pretty snazzy loader!... I have a sorta' plastic thumb assist thingy that goes over the clip to make pulling the spring down easier... It's saved me a lot of blisters... |
Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by bill67 on 06/28/11 at 12:52:04 I have a Ruger like that,I bought for the same reason looks like a luger,I've had it for ten years I think its a mk11 I don't know the difference of a Mark 111,My son made me walnut grips for it.I have the 4 inch barrel.Mines chrome or what ever.Their 22s |

Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by Sunchasers on 06/28/11 at 12:59:16 Nice Father's Day present! I have both the Ruger 22 cal. and a 1942 Luger 9mm. The Ruger is by far tons fun for "plinking" around, more reliable action, and cheaper ammo than the Luger. :) Has anyone tried one of those 22 cal conversion kits for M1911 ?? Just curious if they are worth the money. |

I have a Colt Commander, and found that for the price of a conversion kit, add a few bucks more, and the Ruger was a better choice. |
Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by prechermike on 06/28/11 at 13:31:56 Bot, this thing is all over the plastic thumb assist thingy. |

Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by Edgar on 06/28/11 at 18:28:41 I'd like to know Micks opinion on Sbaugz completed Ryca |
Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by Boule’tard on 06/28/11 at 18:49:58 Welcome back Mick, and good score on the Ruger! We got a 1910 Luger in the family, knuckle action and all.. old Paw Paw had it in his nightstand when he kicked off. |
Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by kimchris1 on 06/28/11 at 19:40:17 Great to see you Mick. Nice looking Ruger too. Hugs, glad your back.. :-* :-* kim |
Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by Midnightrider on 06/29/11 at 06:02:09 Nice gun Mick. When I was young and dumb I had a Ruger Mark 1 and sold it. Now that I'm old and dumb I want another one. Just bought a Ruger 10-22 last month. After I recover from that purchase I plan on getting a Mark III. |
Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by bill67 on 06/29/11 at 10:47:12 A few years back I bought a 10-22 at walmart, stainsteel and from walmart the barrel is 2 inches longer than if you bought it anywhere else. |
Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by Serowbot on 06/29/11 at 10:51:50 I haven't been shooting for years... Never find the time... Now,... I'm gettin' itchy.... All your fault, Mick... ;D... |

Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by photojoe on 06/30/11 at 19:29:05 Great for the Ruger, now if they only made one for a Marlin 795. Those mags are a real pita to load. |
Title: Re: Sir Mick... Post by joscswny on 07/01/11 at 10:47:19 This is a beautiful pistol. Excellent for introduction to shooting instruction. Mine eats anything I put through it from sub-sonic to super speed stuff. Finally learned how to put it back together with any kind of consistency. Going to Cheaper than Dirt next stop. No waiting in NH either. |
