Title: Re: Here it is! Post by Boule’tard on 08/08/12 at 07:58:28 The difference is especially striking when you look at the before and after! :D http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/tt82/serowbot/tum.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a9/mxr199/Triumph%202010/DSC_0275.jpg On a more serious note, you could lower and shrink it a tad more (visually) by changing the orange screen to a dark tint. The orange makes it look slightly top-heavy or top-emphasized or something. The fairing no longer needs an intervention, though. I'd probably wait until the orange one gets scratched and cloudy, then try a darker one later. |
Title: Re: Here it is! Post by babyhog on 08/13/12 at 14:46:28 You had that custom made, right? Not really my cup o' tea, but if you're happy with it, I think its fabulous! To me, the orange takes away from the beautiful bike itself, but it is interesting. How much trouble was it to put on? ...and how different does it feel riding? |

I did too.....until I got my Savage. The one-lunger handles so darn good and runs so hard I don't really care anymore. And that's coming from an old Trumpet/Beezer rider form the old days! |
Title: Re: Here it is! Post by rfw2003 on 08/13/12 at 19:15:43 Not really my thing either, but you did manage to pull it off pretty good with all the work you did. Great Job R.F. |
Title: Re: Here it is! Post by Boofer on 08/13/12 at 20:59:18 I love a Triumph for the same reason I love my Savage...they look good sitting still. Mufflers don't overwhelm and side cover bolts contrast for a "means business" look. Just enough chrome to set it off. Fixed the way you want it. Good looking ride. Take care of her. ;) |
Title: Re: Here it is! Post by LostArtist on 08/14/12 at 20:34:36 eventually it'll have saddle bags, hard givi bags, but i can't do that until october or so. I'm pretty happy right now, it's not perfect but it's a great start :) :) :) |
Title: Re: Here it is! Post by LostArtist on 08/14/12 at 20:38:40 the best part is the ride, handles great, on the 3 turns I get to take, maybe next year I'll look into some performance mods, but I don't know why, it's pretty good the way it is. |
Title: Re: Here it is! Post by MMRanch on 08/14/12 at 22:39:04 How do ya like the Motor ? I'll keep my S-40 , but that said ... sometime it would be nice to have a bigger cruiser especially when the wife goes. I was looking at getting an America model .. so back to the question is there any vibration ? handing quirks ? better than 50 mpg (Hwy) ? High gear red-line speed ? I haven't had a chain drive since I got the Savage 10 years ago but I've read somewhere belts are available for the Triumphs you ever check into it ? Mike :) |
Title: Re: Here it is! Post by LostArtist on 08/15/12 at 16:32:40 the motor is great, the bike gets to 70mph before I even know it, vibes are a little but hardly worth mentioning, mileage varies, I haven't really been keeping track of it that much, I was getting between 46 - 51 mpg, I don't have tach so I don't know the high gear red-line speed, the speedo goes to 140 . . . not sure why though I did not know there was a belt conversion for the triumph, that would be nice, oooo just looked it up, kinda expensive, the chain isn't that hard to maintain, I might get the center stand though, after the saddle bags. so much to do, so little money . . . :-? |
