Title: Boulavard S40 risers on pre-'05 Savage Post by MileHiRider on 01/11/13 at 07:21:02 Does anyone know if this would work? I'm thinking of changing my old style handlebars on my '04 to the new style drag type bars. Thanks! |

Title: Re: Boulavard S40 risers on pre-'05 Savage Post by Sarge on 01/11/13 at 08:23:08 Yes, this will work. I put s40 bars on my 03 Savage. I used Highway Hawk risers instead for looks as sugested by another member in the Tech Section, but they were pricey ;). However, my Savage windshield no longer fit and I went with s40 mirrors for better visibility. I think you will like the s40 bars a lot better. Sarge |

Title: Re: Boulavard S40 risers on pre-'05 Savage Post by MileHiRider on 01/11/13 at 08:39:03 Thanks for the info Sarge, how tall were the risers you used, and are they a "pullback" type? Did you also use S40 bars? Yeah, the aftermarket risers are expensive and the thread size is wrong so I'd have to get adapters, for another $20. I'm thinking I could find a used S40 riser for less. |

Title: Re: Boulavard S40 risers on pre-'05 Savage Post by Sarge on 01/14/13 at 10:57:22 I bought a pair of Highway Hawk 4" risers, model# HH-56-0341. They have about a 1" pullback. They were a little ;) pricey at just under $105 shipped but they went on and look great. These mount with 10mm bolts that come with the risers. They come with shims for 7/8" bars and some other washer parts that I didn't need. NOTE: If you order these make sure you are ordering the 10mm version because they make a 12mm and it is easy to get confused. These risers have a better chrome finish than the stock s40s and look well made and beefy.Good luch whichever way you go. Sarge |
