Hold on a minute. I'm calling a foul.

That guy made a large number of conclusions about why the older lady was working, based on no facts at all. He knows NOTHING!! about why that lady was still working. He didn't say that he asked her why she was working.

Some older Americans like work a number of hours a week just to get out of the house, interact with other people or feel like they are still contributing to society. Not everyone wants to "retire" to a life of leisure in their older years.

The commentator is a smug, stupid jerk.

I did not say why she was working. I said the commentator did not have any facts to support his claim and I offered a couple other possible alternatives. I did not say any of them or true or false. No conclusions on my part.

Two points:

1)I agree with Bobert. The assumptions are nonstop. Maybe true, maybe not. The cowardly email writer can only glance backwards and glare at impatient shoppers behind him while he’s supposedly confronted with what he’s practically describes as a dying woman working on her last day on this earth. That’s it? An unnoticed glare backwards is all you can work up?

2)The guy who wrote the email must be an Obama speech writer…..

What if she were the owner of the store or maybe a manager? Last I checked, age discrimination is illegal. But I am reminded how much I pay in taxes and how little of it I will ever see again.

Yeah, the writer sure knows how to paint an image in the mind's eye ;D ;D
