Title: first sighting
Post by Jeff71 on 07/23/14 at 11:23:58

This may sound dumb but I saw my first S40s this past weekend.  ;D One was a nice silver one driving by in South Haven Michigan. The second was a hard-ridden, black bike on our way home at a gas station in Sawyer.
I went to the local dealership to see one but they were still packed up in back. >:(

What?  We all have been carefully giving you detailed information about wheels, hubs, tail lights, fuel tanks, horn wiring, Deluxe Champion Tires, etc. for the past two months.....and you only now have seen a Savage in person? :o

I feel so used.....so violated.....so cheap! :-[

I bet Jeff71 isn't even his real name!...  :-/...

I think Dave likes being used and violated though... ;D
Well put it this perspective; I'm a teacher and I like getting all my information together so when I go to do something I have a plan of attack (a lesson plan in teacher terms). I'm also a designer so I know what I need to do with what tools, sizes of parts, part numbers and specs so I'm more informed when it comes to possible complications.
And Jeff is my real name. The 71 is the year I was born. :)
Jeff
P.S. All the advice is very much appreciated!

I'm also trying LIKE CRAZY to convince my wife to let me get a bike. If I can show her that I have a set plan that is doable, she might let me go for it. I do have to sell a few cars too. Anyone want to buy a 356 speedster replica or a Spatz dune buggy?

a 356 speedster replica or a Spatz dune buggy?

I've got a 17 year old trying to take my car away from me ... He needs his own , and the speedster and dune buggy sound like "Cool" rides  8-).

I'd like to take the speedster off your hands but I suspect the postage to Australia would be a killer. :P

Neither come with engine or trans but the 356 is on a 1970 VW pan with a title. It has extra gauges, wiring harness and I think some additional interior. I can post some pictures later.

Naaaa   Don't post pictures on my account

All the 17 year-old's I know are not the types to put a motor in anything but drive.

But it was a thought !  :)
