Title: Electrical Issue Post by b1gb0ner on 07/27/14 at 20:17:49 I just did some custom work on my 97 savage (removed rear fender, new rear turn signals and new brake light/running light. Before the work, everything worked as normal. After the work, with the exception of the brake light, everything works as normal with the key in the 'on' position. The multimeter reading for the running light was normal, but the reading on the brake light power line was odd. without the brakes being used, it read 9 volts, brakes used it reads 0 volts. If I turn the key from 'on' to 'park' then the brake light/running light work like they should. can someone help? |

Title: Re: Electrical Issue Post by b1gb0ner on 07/28/14 at 14:08:46 The important part of the symptoms here is the fact that all works normally when the key is in the 'parking' position (the farthest position up of the 3. When the key is in the 'on' position (the middle position), that is when the issue with the brake light arrises. The brake light wire has a 9 volts reading when the brakes are not on and a 0 volt reading when the breaks are on. the running light gets its constant 12 volts as it should. |

Title: Re: Electrical Issue Post by verslagen1 on 07/28/14 at 14:20:05 In park, the brake shouldn't be energized. Only the running light should be on. So there's your short. Or you got it wired wrong. |
