Title: Best grips for the S40? Post by killeraxemannic on 08/18/14 at 21:02:29 I really hate the plastic feel of the stock grips on my S40. I know there are tons out there but I want to make sure I get something that will work with the bike. Did anyone do an upgrade that they really like? I am pretty much open to anything that is good quality and not plastic. My buddy has the black version of these on his Harley and they feel really nice. Will these fit the S40? http://www.leatherup.com/p/Motorcycle-Grips/Avon-Chrome-Air-Cushioned-Metric-Cruiser-Grips-with-Avon-Boss/168385.html |

Title: Re: Best grips for the S40? Post by DeepPurple on 08/18/14 at 21:17:06 I liked my Biltwell recoil grips, but my white ones turned yellow way too quick. I think all of their grips feel nice, but don't expect them to last long. They are cheap though so not a big deal to buy new ones every once in a while. Oh, the throttle side of my recoils didn't totally cover the plastic tube either but still looked alright. Now I have basic coke bottle grips and I love how they feel and super easy to slide on. Little long but not bad. I think they are the best feeling compared to stock and the biltwells I had. Cheap too whether they are Avon or EMGO. Def won't last long but for $12-15 who cares :D If you don't want old school rubber style then I'm not help. But I think they feel and look the best. |

Title: Re: Best grips for the S40? Post by HondaLavis on 08/18/14 at 23:27:14 The Kuryakyn Iso-grips for 1" bars are what I was running. They are very nice, they are also a little thick. I broke one, so I bought the $33 knock offs from ebay. These came with a throttle boss installed, and the design is nearly identical. The rubber seems slightly thinner. Haven't ridden with those yet;, I'm curious to see how they'll do on the highway. |
