Title: Will this backfire?
Post by raydawg on 02/10/16 at 04:02:01

Read this just now: Clinton is set to campaign with the mothers of Trayvon Martin and Eric Garner, unarmed African-Americans who died in incidents involving law enforcement officers and a neighborhood watch representative, respectively. And the campaign, sources said, is expected to push a new focus on systematic racism, criminal justice reform, voting rights and gun violence that will mitigate concerns about her lack of an inspirational message.

I think a lot of folk are tired of hearing about this.
Conventional wisdom is she has the Black vote locked up, if so, then why alienate the White/law enforcement, etc vote?

And too, you know she will be called out against using this sad events as being opportunistic, where she will have to defend again, like her emails, wall street talking fees, etc, instead of getting out a positive message.....
Maybe even be forced to address Chicago and Obama's lack of dealing with it and his buddies actions  :o

from the article:

Quote:
She is expected to highlight the problem of gun violence as the leading cause of death among African-American men as she campaigns in South Carolina on Friday.

The leading cause of death among African-American men is other African-American men. The fact that they use guns instead of spears or clubs is irrelevant.

She's dug herself a hole with this kind of idiotic pandering. Now she's going to pull the dirt in on top of herself. There is a hard core of ultra- liberals who will swallow this nonsense, but I don't think it's going to fly with most people.

respectively usually means in sequential order.

Trayvon Martin and neighborhood watch representative go together
Eric Garner and law enforcement officers go together...
not the reverse as quoted from the news.

poor writing skills or ignorance?

My wife is a semi-retired senior technical editor. You can start passing your work by her before you post them.     HOWEVER please be aware that her comments can often make Helen Mirren's comments re: drunk drivers seem down right kindly. ::)

1. This is what the media wants to talk about.
2. This is what the left wants to talk about.
2.1 This is what motivates the very few low info voters who aren't in #2.
3. This distracts from everything Clinton.
