Students offered 'emergency' counseling for Trump chalkings
Mar. 24, 2016 - 3:59 - 'Trump 2016' chalk markings cause a stir at Emory University; Reaction on 'Outnumbered'

http://video.foxnews.com/v/4815864615001/students-offered-emergency-counseling-for-trump-chalkings/?intcmp=hpvid1#sp=show-clips

Can you imagine that the young adults of today, the LEADERS of tomorrow, are so gutless that the mere name, written in chalk, on the sidewalk, causes them to have a breakdown?

Boy, these girl thingies wouldn't last five minutes in the oilfield.
Or, in the simple realities of the world. I guess someone would get sued for farting within earshot of these crybabies.
Crybully is more like it.
Look up
Crybully

My same thoughts when I saw that article the other day.

Kinda like a baker who faith is threatened by a gay couple wanting them to bake a cake, eh?

Have we lost the strength to understand we overcome challenges and become stronger for it?

You know my personal story, how the parents enable their daughter, through years of drug use, to the point death took her......
No pleading by my wife and I at "tough love" to them was ever heard, and what they thought they were avoiding was in fact, guaranteed by their actions....
It still hurts us to this day, and they still have not learned from it, only that they are victims, and blame everything, and everyone else, except themselves....

It is hard to watch.

False... students traumatized and offered counseling...

Which means the gist of the report is false.

Not even Close,

Being forced to contract to participate in a celebration of marriage that is in conflict with ones faith is wrong.

Nobody should be forced into a contract to participate in something that they don't agree with.

Still the same?

I don't know who runs snopes. I do know Fox lies. I'm also very much aware of what has recently happened on a college campus.

So, for this to be true wouldn't be any stretch of the imagination for me.

Emory University Offers ‘Emergency Counseling’ After ‘Triggering’ Donald Trump Chalking
by Alex Griswold | 2:44 pm, March 23rd, 2016 WALL JUST GOT TALLER 446

shutterstock_225769873A group of students at Emory University led a campus-wide protest after someone wrote ‘Donald Trump 2016’ in chalk across campus, leading the university to provide “emergency counseling” sessions in response.

According to student paper The Emory Wheel, the triggered students protested outside the administration building chanting, “You are not listening! Come speak to us, we are in pain!”

“I’m supposed to feel comfortable and safe,” one female student said. “But this man is being supported by students on our campus and our administration shows that they, by their silence, support it as well … I don’t deserve to feel afraid at my school.”

The university quickly responded in an email: “By nature of the fact that for a significant portion of our student population, the messages represent particularly bigoted opinions, policies, and rhetoric directed at populations represented at Emory University, we would like to express our concern regarding the values espoused by the messages displayed, and our sympathy for the pain experienced by members of our community.”

“It is clear to us that these statements are triggering for many of you,” they continued. “As a result, both College Council and the Student Government Association pledge to stand in solidarity with those communities who feel threatened by this incident and to help navigate the student body through it and the environment of distrust and unease it has created.”

When meeting with students, Emory administrators promised to review footage from security cameras to try and identify the rogue Trump fan and put them through the “conduct violation process.”

Here's what
The Wheel
had to say. I scanned it quickly, saw no mention of psychiatric care for the mentally challenged who were whining as if they had been beaten. My God what a pitiful bunch.

http://emorywheel.com/emory-students-express-discontent-with-administrative-response-to-trump-chalkings/

And it goes on

http://emorywheel.com/22416-2/

Upon speaking with student protesters at a March 22 meeting in the Centro Latino, Onorato felt that she gained greater insight into the pain that some students experienced as a result of the chalkings. She and the students developed action steps that emphasized greater communication and transparency between administrators and the Emory community

What do they do if they are behind a car with a Trump bumper sticker? Hit it? Pull over and cry? Dial 911?

And that's not all.
For crying out loud,

Crap . , does breathing the same air put me at risk of catching that stupidity and absolute GUTLESSNESS?

!967 and the few military veterans who were attending a university were subjected to harassment by students and administration. We couldn't park our vehicles near the campus or they would be vandalized. If alone a crowd of "Peace Lovers" would try to bully and harass you.   And these misbegotten, spoiled little ... want to "feel safe"... As far as I'm concerned THEY are the walking reasons for "Planned Parenthood" to be funded and ENFORCED.

The story is absolutely true.  I follow this on Twitter and even had a couple of exchanges with students. You would've thought that Trump personally came to the campus, threw him down and raped him.   seriously, that's what he was acting like.  Very similar things have happened on my daughter's campus, University of Kansas. Luckily, she's an engineering student so her and all her friends pay no attention to the lunatics. The protests ( and at University Missouri as well ) are all organized and attended by political science, psychology, women's study, etc. majors. You know, kids going to school  Who won't be able to get a job and who you and I will end up paying for.

The degree to which major college campuses will go in order to coddle these children is mind-boggling. I really have no idea how they are going to survive in the real world. KU is in the middle of Kansas and still very conservative but still it's infiltrated by enough liberal, commie, wussies to make you wanna throw up. The bad part is these little pu$$ies will be running the world one day soon.

Old.Indian's experience back then was the opening battle in a longer war. It's not our world anymore ,  adults no longer run it. Quite literally, the inmates are running the asylum.

The only Silverlining behind this is a little bit of pushback by the remaining adults in the world. The University Missouri for example is not rebuilding two dormitories that needed to be torn down and newer ones put in their place. They're not doing it because their enrollment is down by over 1000. After witnessing the ridiculous mess that went on last summer, what sane adult would send their child there much less hand over tens of thousands of dollars to have their brains polluted?

The upside is, the graduates from the Underwater Basket weaving program Won't be competing for the Real Jobs.
Th poly sci, women's studies, psychology of transgender life, and so on, they are essentially just high school graduates who have Worse than no job skills.. and they are Gonna be Pissed.
They were Told that they NEEDED a college education in order to get ahead.. Well, you'll be needing a car if you're gonna win the Indy 500, but, your Pinto ain't IT.  You need a degree in something that someone NEEDS,  mechanical engineering, chemistry, Real Stuff, not imagined crises of codepency. And Then there is the debt....
What ever became of Interests and passion? Why don't people want to master welding and machining, heavy equipment operation and repair, being a painter.. a decent painter in a body shop makes Mun Eee.. copier repair, cash register repair,

People have been conned into believing that blue collar workers are not happy. Gotta have an office job in order to be successful and happy.. horse crap.

When the economy is in an inflationary swing, enrollment falls, when in a recessionary swing, enrollment increases. I would like to see their CAFR's, bet they got 100's of millions is "discretionary" funds sitting "idle" earning interests/returns.  ;)

100% correct. my daughter graduates Mechanical Engineering next month and she already has a well paying job lines up so she'll be able to pay for her own place, a car and all school loans.

Basket weaving, political science and women's studies don't pay as well....

y'all are lost. I've watched this happen over and over again. F#cK, I'm in classes with them, they're my "peers" in group projects and studies.

Those liberal arts and soft science degrees are in place for the trust-fund babies, whose parents are footing the bill, and with NO WORRIES upon graduation. They WILL get a cushy corner office job "managing" the serfs after graduation. Of course they're not competing for jobs, theirs are guaranteed after "successful" completion of their major field of "study".

Justin,

I'm "older" with a LOT of critical thinking skills. It's not speculation, the numbers are available through the colleges (fyi - State & Ivy leagues keep records for potential benefactors).

As for the athletic scholarships, don't get me started on that free ride. I've taken business, finance and accounting classes where the professors stated at the start of the semester that ALL athletes would essentially get a "free-ride" in their courses, no matter the course difficulty, citing their "special situation and needs" specific to the schools athletic program. What a crock of s#it.  >:(

I'm in an advanced finance course right now, which the professor is only passing those in the athletics program (huge sports fan) and those who have stated they're major is accounting or finance. All others are FAILING, and he's point-blank stated it will take those failing students 3-4 times to pass his course. WTF?

The "free rides" exist in every college and university (with the possible exceptions of MIT, CIT, med schools, etc.)  Anyone who thinks that family name, social or financial position doesn't matter is unaware of reality.

I'd like to add to the conversation a bit. As far as the arts is concerned, I strongly considered getting into that. I would say that a lot of kids major in it simply because they like it. ;) Maybe some of them are big shot kids? Maybe some are poor people? Any ideas?

At this point, I'm not confident to say.

If liberal arts is so stupid, here's something to consider: Why did people learn it years ago?

Maybe sometimes people just want to learn cool stuff and become an enlightened, smart, wise person??? :-?

But then, years ago, education was dirt cheap! 8-) ::) :P

By the way, I nearly have my Business degree. For fellow business majors here, let me remind you of this little tidbit:

Business majors are generally considered to be a dime a dozen.

DesertRat, from what I gather, unless you were top of your class in some big-shot school and/or [got people's attention/networked/made a name for yourself], or you majored in some key technical thing like accounting and took enough classes to qualify for CPA or something, you're right in the same boat with me (or maybe slightly better, since I took my courses online). I took entrepreneurship. Business online wasn't my first choice of major. It was my bailout when things turned sour. Where will it get me? Only time will tell.

:(

In many ways, life hasn't been extremely hopeful lately.

Title: Re: Ohh, the Horror!

There is nothing "wrong" with liberal arts. It's just that there is a very limited job market for those with BA degrees.  For the most part teaching positions. Nothing wrong with being a teacher, but all too many don't want to be teachers.  So they take jobs that barely require a decent high school education. Retail sales, waiters, etc.  live at home with their parents and complain the "no one will give them a job", never miss an installment of "The Kardashians", and never become functioning adults. (Even if, and when, they have children.)
