Take the case of Lonnie Holmes, 21, who lives in Richmond, a working-class suburb north of San Francisco and whose four his cousins had died in shootings. He was a passenger in a car involved in a drive-by shooting, police said. And he was arrested for carrying a loaded gun. When Holmes was released from prison last year, officials in this city offered something unusual to try to keep him alive: money. They began paying Holmes as much as $1,000 a month not to commit another gun crime.

We have seen some weird stuff out of CA , but they have officially gone bat$hit crazy.

I know people will scream, but think long term folks......
The only way we beat the ills of society is through education.
Give them a fish, they eat it, they want another. Teach them to fish and not only do they eat, they can feed others, and the self respect is priceless....

Bernie is right, our schools hold the answer to so many problems we face.

There are no qualifiers or conditions that could possibly make that label anything but a perfect fit. It's crazy,
If I sign up for the program and promise to not rob banks or mug winos, what do I get? I was under the impression that the
Penalties for committing crime were how society redirected the impulses of the unwashed.
