Title: What does JoG make of this? Post by Paraquat on 04/26/16 at 09:27:02 I have a friend who studies ammunition. He alleges that the Us is supplying Soviet Allies with STG44's. There appear to have been roughly 5000 chambered in "7.92 short". This cartridge, he claims, has been unavailable for 70 some odd years. Yet ISIS has, and is using, this cartridge. He believes if this were original 1942 era manufacture ammunition that the powder would not have stayed stable in the desert. He suspects it is being currently produced in Serbia. I haven't had time to investigate any of these claims. My lunch break draws to a close but I thought I'd throw that info out there and see if anything pops up. --Steve |

Yet ISIS has, and is using, this I'm curious about what weapons spit that slug. It's pretty rare to see weapons made for ammo that is not available. It's not reasonable. Something there doesn't add up. Okay, I went looking. Someone knows zero about ammunition. Aside from .22 caliber, maybe the most common bullet. SKS and AK 47 shoot the same bullet. Available everywhere where ammunition is sold. Cheaper than Dirt , Dallas. Look up the website. Title: Re: What does JoG make of this? Post by Paraquat on 04/26/16 at 10:59:05 7.62x39 =/= 7.92 short That's the odd part. Why manufacture a firearm for an obsolete caliber. Unless you're creating the demand and just so happen to be the only manufacturer. --Steve |
