I know our president has said that mexican import taxes/tariffs will pay for the wall... But we consumers will ultimately pay for those taxes and tariffs...

Yes, we will, and any economic downturn in Mexico just drives more across the border. He's screwing up here.

Now that everyone can see what happens when a producer is burdened with a cost, and everyone can see WHO really PAYS the cost, doesn't that help everyone see corporate income taxes in a little different light,? Our corporate tax rate is around 30 or 35%¡!¡!,, Wouldn't You set up shop where there are fewer regulations, lower labor costs and lower taxes? That difference in cost of doing business is HUGE! Enough to be the difference between staying in business and bankruptcy. Big Business often operates on narrow margins. The bigger the business,  the more dollars flow THROUGH the business. If you owned, sole proprietor, a business that saw a million dollars a year in sales and the cost of materials, labor, taxes, everything, ate 90% of it, you made , clear, free, in the billfold $100,000.00.
If it's a huge, multinational, billion dollars in sales, company, a smaller percentage of those dollars is still a right tidy profit. Not Every business is able to translate $1,000.00 in sales into $400.00 net profit. Those that can are rarely Big. I don't know of any.
