Title: Banning truth?????
Post by raydawg on 01/30/17 at 04:48:34

I have not much of a real understanding of how it all works.
I found this story in Real Clear Politics.....
It list numbers, and facts, not just talking points.

Does anybody not agree that vetting those coming here is not a good idea?
Does anybody believe that terrorist don't enter using false immigration intent?
How would you address this issue?

Oh for a day when we can dialogue with decorum....
Watch the news, no mention of the word temporary or that those who can prove identity can enter through exception....

How can we address issues if we leave out facts?

If this article is wrong, please show us where....

Dialogue? If anyone can read or see the news and they aren't ready to stop the influx of refugees, a discussion isn't likely to suddenly create a reasonable mind.
Look at Germany. It seems like the left just WANT to do what they want to do and the consequences aren't to be considered. Anyone who is rational and careful just hates Muslims.

From a fried of mine with real experience in this matter:

As of 4:30pm yesterday afternoon, Muslim GREEN CARD holders, that is resident LEGAL aliens from certain countries, were prohibited from reentering the country for 90 days if they happened to be traveling. They were detained at airports and prohibited from returning to their homes.
Do you understand what this means?
It means that if you have lived in the US for 20 years with your family and were traveling for business, you are now not allowed to return HOME for 90 days. You will most likely lose your job. Where will you go in the meantime? Will you stay at a hotel?
Or if you are a mother you happened to have gone to your father's funeral abroad at this unlucky time and tried to return home to your children, you are now not allowed to do so for 90 days.
Please don't talk to me about how necessary it is to conduct proper vetting. These people are GREEN CARD holders. A green card holder is a LEGAL alien. He or she has essentially the same rights as a citizen, with respect to residency. They HAVE been properly vetted. These actions against them are 100% ILLEGAL. If it can be them today, it can be you and me tomorrow!
If this doesn't scare you, you are not paying attention. This is not a democracy.

Who is your friend?  For all we know it is tweety that speaks to Thumper...

No, a green card holder is not a legal alien and they do not have the same rights.  U.S. citizenship is the highest status someone can attain under U.S. immigration law. It means a permanent right to live in the United States. Citizens are not subject to the grounds of deportability that affect green card holders.

Best regards,

Really?  So those who've been vetted and have a green card (perhaps in the process of getting citizenship) and traveled out of the country are now being held for 90 days and that's ok with you?

OK - you do you.

I will admit it could have been executed better, but I think the overall temporary ban on immigration from terror prone countries is a prudent step to help insure the safety of American citizens.

I can't AFFORD to travel. What are these Green Card holders Doing that puts beans on the table?
I guess people are unaware of the Muslims who came and committed terrorist attacks.

If we didn't have an unmitigated immigration disaster, I would be more sympathetic to your concern.

Why do we need anyone immigrating here?  How is it going to benefit our country?  We don't have the jobs & resources to adequately take care of the people who are here.  These are concerns I am more interested in.

Best regards,

I've questioned the reasoning for allowing people to come in for a long time. Americans are unemployed and underemployed. We don't NEED more people.

We are all immigrants but hey, since we are here lets keep everyone else out.  For years, our immigration policy has been to allow in Drs. engineers etc, and refugees from political disasters, (civil wars) where they cannot expect to live if they stay in their home country,  Some consider that a humane policy, some obviously don't.  Think of the Vietnamese who helped the US in our War there, and the Iraqis and Afghanis who helped us in our wars there..should we thank them by leaving them to be tortured of killed??  People are already being vetted, has anyone seen what extreme vetting is supposed to be?

JOG we let them in because they have skills and a work ethic not seen in many us citizens who could not or would not graduate from HS and learn needed skills.  And unless you are doing the ostrich, much of big business has held back in hopes of a Republican Govt that is "more friendly"

America, once upon a time, was largely not inhabited. We NEEDED people. Today, we have MILLIONS UNEMPLOYED.
America, once upon a time, DIDN'T have Social Safety Net programs that immigrants could immediately latch onto.
STOP just swallowing the SHOULD. Think.
How many people are unaware of Our Role in creating the refugee problem?
Do I have to quote Gadaffi AGAIN?
And, PLEASE, just ONE TIME, without playing the guilt card, explain Why we are to believe that the events in Europe, rapes, murders and crime in general, won't be the result Here?
As for WHO resisted the Vietnamese, that was the democrats.
Don't you DARE pretend I'm heartless. Im not suicidal. The lifeboat is Over Full and you Want to drag murderers aboard.
Excuse me for living, but No Thanks.

Big difference between businesses that existed before NAFTA and startups.
I keep hearing about the Americans who are too lazy or too stupid.
America led the WORLD in patents. The fabulous schools have ended that run.
I'm not believing that Americans won't or can't do the jobs.
You can believe it.

I think what everyone is forgetting is that immigration isn't a right it is a governmental program, and like any governmental program should be for the express benefit of American citizens (hence Dr.'s engineers etc....) When this immigration fails to be for the benefit of the American citizens it should be slowed or halted.  Besides we cant help everyone by bringing them here it is impractical, a much better way to help them is to help them where they are.  There is a good video on this with gumballs:
