I really think it's a poor thought out plan.
Yes, we need a system that has the ability to ascertain who are, who they say they are, but this snare seems futile.
It has needlessly consumed resources on lawful folks, how does that help the situation?
It doesn't.
It just adds more confusion to a complex problem already.

I say, back to the drawing board !

TRY to accept that Trump is calling this a Temporary travel ban. He wants to be able to vet the immigrants. Maybe you should try envisioning Your town, the schools your children or friends children or grandchildren attend. When Ellis Island was the entry point, doctors checked out everyone. People who were carrying TB and other things were turned away. I'm seeing reports of immigrants from Mexico and the refugees carrying TB and other things that America doesn't need.
I'm waiting for a reasoned explanation why we should just accept people into our lives and not know if they are able to be self sufficient, safe to be around, and not carrying disease.
I'm also curious to know if they are too stupid to know what role America played in creating the situations that Caused them to Be refugees. They want Sharia law, not Our laws.
And the uproar is because Not embracing more of the very people who have raped, killed and caused havoc across Europe.

According to a Constitutional scholar, the ban will be upheld.
The president has every right to ban a particular people.
But IMO, he should of enacted it at the embassy level and not issued any new visas, instead of cancelling every visa issued.

If ten percent of a group are dangerous, do you just throw open the door and wait for them to blow things up, rape, murder, etc. OR, do you Temporarily close the door and work on figuring out who is safe to allow in?
Considering the economic situation in America, the medical system, the unemployed, which is much worse than the government is telling us, do you REALLY believe we need people who are poor and from societies that are so dissimilar?
Nobody has addressed the resentment these refugees must surely have for the country that helped create the upheaval that Caused them to be refugees.

The real optimum plan might be for Muslims to settle in a Muslim Majority country, of course the right sect. I do think thee is something dramatically wrong when the Arab League won't simply remove a despot (Yeah, I know it does set a precedent) and would rather allow the Syrian civil war to go on for years displacing 3 million or so??
