Am I the only one who doesn't buy the story that a fire brought that down?

Best regards,

If this were an isis backed "attack" - where's the announcement from them claiming responsibility?

More than that though - to what end did this "attack" serve?  No one was killed, no one was injured.  Just a lot of ticked off commuters - in Atlanta.  Yeah, it's going to cost a lot to repair, but nothing debilitating.

Seems like the aluminum-foil-hat contingent is a little bored and looking for a conspiracy.

The only conspiracy I see is a poor dumb crack head who set the fire while getting high.
You get concrete hot enough and the moisture in it will turn to steam which blows it apart. We all have been hit by exploding rocks tossed into a camp fire, it's the same thing, just bigger.
I would think disrupting our infrastructure by attacking bridges and other low priority soft targets would be the next thing for terrorists but it doesn't fit their style as of yet.

I have never seen a rock explode from within in a fire; although, I have never tossed one in as well.

I don't believe a fire could get that hot to drop a structure like that with out some kind of assistance.

Best regards,

I'm still wearing a scar from a rock that went kaboom in a campfire, we all do stupid things as a kid and learn as we grow.

Maybe we should start a thread for stupid things we've done.

Here's one: I put a .22 short nose first into a crevice in a telephone pole and we took turns shooting at it with a BB gun until the odds caught up with us and we hit it just right. The shell came spinning back between us at eye level....  Foot either way, and one of us would have been blind in one eye.

I've done a lot of stupid I lived through but probably shouldn't.

Well when one builds a, ‘fire ring’, with rocks, you never take the rocks, out of the lake.
Yep, water soaked rocks can explode, when the rapidly heated moisture in them turns to Steam.
(Also, cement/concrete can do the same)

1.   The cement on a bridge, is NOT,  ‘water soaked”.
2.    It takes a  Tremendous amount of heat,
(and  VERY   FAST,   rising  heat),        to make it, explode.
3.     Pieces, of,  ‘FIRE RETARDANT”  PVC, will  NOT  cause such a rapid rise in heat.

Do know,  NO WAY,  it was a,   “…dumb crack head…”.

Was it, ISIS/BLM/Stand in the street Criers?
     Don’t know.
Do Know, by knowledge and experience, NO WAY, was it a, dumb crack head.

It was planned. and other flammables/explosives, were involved.
