CNN is doing what a lot of other business do, targeted marketing.
They have found an audience, or need, just like FOX did, and they fill it with whatever means they think will sell, which means $$$$$.

The folks who feed on it, are already looking for this product, not that CNN is converting them into botheads.

One of those socialist dudes years ago said a free press would cause the fall of democracy, is he right?
I dunno.

It will be interesting to see how Palins lawsuit against the NYT irons out.
However, I doubt it will change anything. It's like thinking tougher gun laws, or drug laws, will stop the illegal use of them. We see the effects of that reasoning ;D

Not sure if it was the same dude who predicted democracy would fail from within, but one of those guys also said something about useful fools.

We saw how one of the designers of Obama care said as much.
So, it is a proven strategy practiced by those selling something.
What remains is to argue WHO are the fools ;D

And that question ensures that the market will always have enough willing dupes, I'm afraid :-[

In all fairness this issue has been around for ever....
Man seems to have always found it is easier to excuse his own actions, and assign fault to others.

Could we say it's because we have lowered the bar to moral absolutism.....
Or, the lack of leadership who exhibit the qualities by example?

When a society puts self, before others, is it any wonder it experiences divide?

I think Palin's suit is potentially a big deal for NYT. All papers and most media are struggling financially and NYT is no different.

ABC just settled their pink slime case with BPI (something of career importance for me so i've followed closely) and one factor was money. If ABC lost, would have appealed and could have lost again. Not sure they could have afforded that.

NYT is definitely guilty of libel against her it's just a matter of how hard they'll fight. They might use this as a fundraising opportunity of sorts.
Doubledown with their liberal base and get cash flow moving again.

I'd like to think Palin would resist all attempts to settle but she bailed on governorship rather than fight so not sure she can walk away from the settlement offer they'll eventually make her.

The effect looks great in TV, wow, such strong emotions, gotta tap into that energy and sell it to the viewers.....

The media are allegedly the purveyors of truth. That they have become polarized and some won't speak ill of one party or speak well of the other is sad, but the people who are looking for the dirt on bubs watch CNN. And they don't expect for an explosive story to be made up of Nothing.
The Trump Opponents want factual reasons to hate him. They got lied to. And Because of the lies, the Trump administration has been working on solving problems OTHER THAN the ones he ran on solving.

Started it’s decline, and in the last years it has slowly gotten worse,
(One Sided)

In the last 8 years, it has spiraled down, big time.

Why, all the, ‘Fake News’, talk now?
People have, WOKEN UP, and KNOW, the LIES, they have been fed.

So it will take 2-6 years to get the, ‘Media’, Back,
to telling the Truth, and reporting the, ’News’,
with out bias one way or the other.

And it will ONLY, happen, if the Pressure is kept up.

Gee, it may even go back to:
“Here is the News,
and here is our, Editorial”
