I wonder Why they would want to.

Wouldn't it be something if that land got used against debt.

The "royalties" for the resources taken from federal land (oil, natural gas, timber, etc.etc.) is SUPPOSED to go into the US Treasury.. INSTEAD federal bureaucrats are bribed to turn their backs on the actual amount of resources removed so that the corporations pay only a minimal percentage of the actual royalty moneys owed. Several tribes have the BIA and the Department of the Interior in court seeking over $100 BILLION lost royalties ON RESERVATION lands alone.... Makes one wonder just how many Trillions of $$$ were lost on Federal property resources not part of reservations..... :-/
