In the FWIW department,
the question is such a far fetched, impossible idea, especially considering they weren't even allowed to learn to read, that it's kinda ridiculous.
And who can answer for Everyone? Look at the number of people who believe and trust after lie after lie have been exposed. Born and raised in slavery, knowing exactly zero outside of that life, I'm supposed to be able to say what everyone would do?

Really a far fetched question, like, what if we had Phasers, Warp drives, and Teloportation tomorrow?

But here is my shot at it.

1800’s +, and Slaves.
If they could have a gun, I would guess 90% of them, would shoot, Squirrels/Ducks/Pheasants/Deer, for a supplement to their meals.
Same people, would also shoot, Copperheads/Water Moccasins/ Rattle Snakes, to make their life easier.

10%, would, tell their owner, “Hey You gotta Treat us Better”.

Despite what one is told.
Think of this, ’then, Slaves’ were Chattel.
How do you treat them, Very Good, if, ‘YOU’, want to make money.
Just like you would have treated your Horses.
You House them in good places, you feed them well, and you take care of them.
(Again if you want to make money)

If you beat the heck out of your Horses/Slaves,
(Which certainly some did, just like today)
You would have, NOT, been as successful as, the next Plantation over.

Same thing as with the American Indians, the government would of limited them to smaller caliber firearms, under .36 caliber muzzle loading rifles and shotguns for hunting. The cost of even a low quality firearm back then was more than almost all of the slave population could afford. Can't see how it would of changed anything.

Well, duuuhh! That's more than a week before the Living Wage minimum wage idea ya know.
I'm pretty sure money wasn't in the pockets of many. Slaves don't get paid, usually. Like a cow, they get food and shelter.

People! I think maybe you're taking this to literally....

The point is if slaves had the weapons to fight back against basically being kidnapped, wouldn't they have been better off? Would an overseer use a whip knowing the dozen men behind him had guns back in their homes? Would you be so easily able to sell a man's wife and children to the highest bidder?

No. That's the point of the 2nd Amendment and why the US citizenry will always have the capacity to keep their freedoms. If slaves in the US had the right to keep and bear arms, slavery would have quickly died out.

But the American Indian example makes a valid point. They were able to put up a defense against a much stronger opponent. Without weapons, how would their plight had been different?

My brother who is all for banning guns said we are way past being able to take on the Federal Government and I agree that would be a futile battle. However I suggested to him that if our economy broke down like it is in Venezuela right now would you not want to defend your family, your home and your food supply? He had no argument there.

Back to your question. When I was in Zimbabwe recently I talked with a lot of locals. (actually I was working with them), some of the conversations were very tearful. In the late 80's and 90's the Government came and kicked them off their farms, farms that they purchased legally and in some cases had worked for several generations. they were given 24 hours to leave and the were kicked out for no other reason than they were white. They suggested to me that the US needs to keep it's 2nd amendment rights. See they are not allowed to own guns except in very special cases.

I've seen the burly bully down the street clobber a guy who had an axe handle for defense. I Know I'm gonna lose that fight, should it ever come. The bully Did win, but he was sure bruised and bloody. And so far, he hasn't tried on anyone else who has an axe handle.
I'm keeping mine...
