Title: Pink muck in Redline ZDDP additive Post by Gyrobob on 11/06/17 at 16:03:34 What is the pink stuff coagulating in the bottom of this Redline Engine Oil Break-in Additive? http://https://i.imgur.com/vnTl4qZ.jpg http://https://i.imgur.com/5joKXug.jpg Does it do that inside the motor as well? |

Title: Re: Pink muck in Redline ZDDP additive Post by Dave on 11/06/17 at 16:58:09 Yep...mine does that as well. I put the bottle in my ultrasonic cleaner with the heat on.....then once it is warmed up I give the bottle a shake until it is mixed again. I contacted Redline about it, and they said it is some of the additives settling......they didn't say it was the actual ZDDP. The bottles are never like that when they arrive - but I only use about 4 ounces a year......so a bottle lasts a long time. |

I'm a bit concerned that stuff might be settling in the bottom of the crankcase if the bike sits for a while. |

Title: Re: Pink muck in Redline ZDDP additive Post by stewmills on 11/06/17 at 20:05:58 Mine does it too. I just shake well and its all good. If it is cold I will sit in the sun just to warm it up a bit. Using the same bottle for 4+ years and never an issue with the bike so far, but the longest my bike may sit even in winter is 4-6 weeks. |

I just don't like the idea of pink stuff hardening in the crankcase. |

Title: Re: Pink muck in Redline ZDDP additive Post by LANCER on 11/19/17 at 00:53:28 I assume that when added to oil in the engine the dispersion of it in a comparatively much larger amount of oil that the individual molecules are adequately separated from each other that they would not longer be able to congregate in sufficient numbers to make Pink Sludge...Or something like that. |

Title: Re: Pink muck in Redline ZDDP additive Post by Gyrobob on 03/14/18 at 16:02:58 well, I guess we don't use this stuff any more, anyway. Anyone want to buy a couple bottles for cheap? |

Title: Re: Pink muck in Redline ZDDP additive Post by justin_o_guy2 on 03/14/18 at 18:48:52 Oil gets reformulated. Hang on to it. Put it in your wine cellar and turn it once in a while. |
