There is no telling how long it will be before the movement Trump has mobilized will have run its course. Nor can we anticipate — if and when Trumpism does implode — how extensive the damage will be that Pinker’s “forces of modernity” will have to repair.

He still sees it as he is right, no need to listen to others, they are idiots..... Yet, he wonders how long it will take, shouldn’t that depend more on the question, when are you going to listen? Again, it’s not Trump, he has been all over the political map, it’s yhe so called deplorable that are as mad as hell and they are not going to take it any longer. As in a war, it takes two combatants, and in that process of escalations, damage is done by both parties...... Yet he thinks it’s only one.
