I had to look up
Swatting.
People live in a fantasy.
I wonder what they know about the real world.

I'm more interested in why the cop shot the kid when he answered the door.

The police chief has already said that the call came through "unusual channels" not the typical 911 route. But they still rolled up on the house in full battle rattle, even though they had no idea WTF was going on.

Oh well, just more collateral damage from increasingly militaristic police mentality and training I guess. Dress the cops up like commandos and run around like special ops soldiers and suddenly everyone not in a uniform is an enemy combatant. Real soldiers in a war zone have stricter rules of engagement.

All the cops went home safe though, so I guess it's all good.

Not the best hostage negotiation approach to go up there ready for a war. There's been an arrest in California. But apparently shooting a guy who opened a door is not illegal.
