Title: How does this work? Post by raydawg on 01/23/18 at 10:32:41 How can a state decide not to uphold federal laws? Can folks just use the same reasoning about ANY law then? If I, as a employer find out I broke the law by hiring someone here illegally and I try to correct my wrong I get charged with another crime.... WTF, doesn’t our Constitution address such matters? http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/01/18/northern-california-police-refuse-to-cooperate-in-upcoming-ice-raids-report.html |

Title: Re: How does this work? Post by MnSpring on 01/23/18 at 11:43:17 In Mn, Non Oxy gas, can Only be put in a, ‘Collector’, car/truck, Snowmobile, Off road, M.C. or a portable gas tank. It is State Law. Yet, Many Regularly put it into, Non, ‘collector’, vehicles, directly from the pump. No one says a word. If Calf says it will not, cooperate, so be it. Two things could happen: Get out of the way, and let ICE do their job. and If local Police Departments, are hindering. Put them in Jail. Or, the Fed government, could not, cooperate, When it comes time for, ‘Aid’, for the fires that scorched the area. (Oh, who was that, that was highly suspect of setting the big first one ?) As to: “…what method would our Constitution address this…” Don’t know. Perhaps helpful to know what part of the Federal Constitution, would deal with: One not paying, Taxes due the IRS. A Felon possessing a firearm. Taking more than 10,000.00 of Cash out of Country. etc. etc. etc. Or a, State Constitution, when: A fish over the limit. Driving over the Speed Limit. A bonfire, without a permit. Taking wood from one County to another County. etc. etc. etc. |

Not quite the same. The Constitution charges the Federal government with border control and immigration control. The Constitution is silent on what we the People can ingest, leaving that power and control at State level, and quite possibly not even a State control issue, but a strictly personal decision. The federal law is unconstitutional. |

Title: Re: How does this work? Post by justin_o_guy2 on 01/23/18 at 18:20:03 When they did prohibition, they amended the constitution. They had to, because the Federal government has exactly Zero Authority in that arena without it. A "law" that purports to control what the constitution does not name as being one of the things they have constitutional authority over is Color of Law and Unconstitutional and null and void at the moment it was signed. |
