Title: Seems the system failed.....
Post by raydawg on 02/14/18 at 16:19:15

Numerous accounts have this Cruz guy as a known problem.
It was even suggested this guy would indeed do something like this....
I am not sure how you go protecting everyone to every possible threat.
Sad.

Yeah, no $hit it failed.  It's flawed.  It's designed to fail.  Just ask the nra.

Just anybody I can find to blame, yeah.

Talk about a conspiracy theory!!
Yeah, the NRA TOLD the FBI to not investigate..

You're so pitiful.
Look, people who are
Willing to KILL PEOPLE
Don't really CARE about that

Gun Free Zone.

I've offered potential solutions.
People here, Meehh, no good.
Others have a higher opinion.

Hey, it hasn't been tried.
That was good enough to justify the obvious failure
Bamicare.

Where is the downside with my proposals?

Here's your chance.
I wonder what you will do.

Or should I just say
Crikkits
Now?

Huh?  Not sure how you came by that...  There is no one thing that we (I) can blame.

It's systemic to our very culture.  We are a nation of gun nuts.  We have so many people in this country that care more about guns than they do people that stuff like this is bound to happen on a regular basis.

Nothing has been done since Sandy Hook - and look where we are now.  What's it going to take?  How many died in Vegas?  Seriously, what's it going to take?

80% of people polled throughout the US are in favor of stricter gun laws/restrictions.

The problem is - the nra pays our politicians a lot better than the average US citizen.  In the last election cycle, they spent $54 million.

If the the “nut” finds the “promotions” of the NRA to enhance and bolster his “nut” reasoning.....
Helping him to plan and carry out HIS desires, as I will challenge you straight up, to prove to ALL who reads this reply/post, to show us where in any doctrine or speech, teachings, or inference, the NRA believes that gun rights protects ANY persons right to USE IT as they see fit/desire.

I will wait till you reply, to connect my reasoning on how if we are to BLAME others, for the actions of others, then you can NOT expect to remedy this issue without severe impinging upon our constitution.

Straight from their mission statement:

"To protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, especially with reference to the inalienable right of the individual American citizen guaranteed by such Constitution to acquire, possess, collect, exhibit, transport, carry, transfer ownership of, and enjoy the right to use arms...."

Yes, they pay lip service for training, safe use and early education.  But at its core, they only promote gun manufacturing, use and ease of access.

Again, they spent over $54 million in 2016's election cycle.  I wonder... how many programs they supported for reasonable restrictions?

Now, is the nra the only one to blame?  Of course not.  But they lobby relentlessly in favor of unrestricted gun access.  That's a fact.  Given the ease of acquiring a gun, these incidents will continue - just as we've seen.

And, when they tout pages like this:

https://www.nrablog.com/articles/2016/1/why-the-ar15-is-americas-most-popular-rifle/

I'm just not inclined to think they have the general public's best interest in mind. (heck, one of the pics on there could have been the shooter from yesterday!)

The NRA does not give money to politicians SO they’ll vote the NRA’s way, they give money to candidates BECAUSE they vote the NRA’s way.
In that way, they are no different than say... Planned Parenthood or any Union for that matter.

The "NRA" is not to blame, the members of NRA dictate its direction. If the membership of the NRA wanted to change the policy positions they support, it would change.

Does the music industry profit off of a video/song that glorifies killing cops, etc?
I agree the problem is vast, complex, and will not fit into one repair.
Even trying to understand all the different enflunces, that might contribute to acts of violence, is open for dialogue.
And why I believe a hindrance, when we use side arguments, or issues, that consume the main goal, in using opportunities to promote agendas.

I am finished with the topic.
You all continue if you want.

Seriously?  You mean that a candidate who gets $100K from the nra is going to vote AGAINST the nra???

You can't be that gullible.

Please, don't try and sell me on the nra.  If you're a member, you're an a$$hole.  There's about 5 million members.  They have one agenda and one agenda only.  More guns to more people.

No ray, you're not getting off that easy.

You said the system failed.  You're right.

You already know my stance.

What do YOU propose?  How would YOU begin to change things?

T.....
If I had the fix.
If I was in possession of the formula.....
If I had to forfeit my life, to reveal its answer....
I would consider it my honor.

I do believe, however, life’s riddles, the answers that confound us, live within ourselves.
I can not solve yours, nor you, mine....

Into this world we are born, ignorant and naked,
We leave clothed, and hopefully, not so ignorant.

You come to this board willingly.
You bring expectations.
If it causes you resentments, yet return again and again, only you really, factually, know why.

I can guess, but that is, and only has the capacity, to be a guess.
I can assign it odds, or call it educated.
However, it is a naked guess, period.

Folks will strive to new frontiers, understandings, expanding the unknown, their motivation is guess.
We can assign it worthy, but again, that is guess.

Sorry, not trying to be vague, cryptic, or ambiguous....
I am merely tossing out my reflections, nothing more.

My statement is completely accurate. If money is the only thing it takes to sway votes, then why doesn't the NRA invest most of their campaign budget to Democratic candidates? Why?  Republicans are going to mostly vote along the same ideology as the membership of the NRA anyway so why not donate to Democrats, get them in their pockets and demand they vote the right way? They'd have virtually no opposition. Why don't they do that?

Whatever makes you feel better web.... (you should go back and read the absurdity of that last post...) . We have an open system of bribery in our political system.  BOTH sides are bought and paid for.  If you can't see that, then you really are gullible.  (ever heard of quid pro quo?)

ever heard of quid pro quo?

Anyone who knows anything about Hillary and the Clinton foundation understands that.
