Since there’s the predictable push on to abandon the 2nd Amendment in order to save lives (and I may have mentioned this before) here’s a worthy question.

Which Amendment has cost the US the most lives?

I’d have to go with the 4th as the deadliest. Imagine if we abandon the 4th amendment and gave authorities access to all what we think of as private.

They could come into the house at any time, read our email, text, and as technology improves, our thoughts. Pull over any car at any time. Imagine the guns they’d find, the drugs, imagine the criminal conspiracies they’d read about or that we were even thinking about doing…..

Why we’d live in a paradise wouldn’t we?! There’d be practically no crime, right? On those rare occasions they didn’t proactively prevent a crime, it would be easy to solve. Just dig around the houses, cars, computers of suspects until they found evidence.

So who’s with me? Let’s dump the 4th!

Says who?? No "lib" I know wants to get rid of the Second Amendment.

I think it's been pretty much been dumped already. The legal standard now is, more or less, "It's easier to apologize later than ask permission now." "So, you think your constitutional rights were trampled on? Fine. Get yourself a lawyer, take us to court while you sit in jail, or are deprived of your property, and see how that works out."

Maybe you'll find a sympathetic judge who will toss the improperly obtained evidence; get you off the hook. If not, oh well, sucks to be you.

Gonna cost you a bunch of money in either case. Won't cost the folks that are fu*kin' with you sh*t though. They still get paid regardless of how things work out.

But it's a valid question, if you wanted to stop the most deaths, you'd get rid of the 4th. Think there's many drive by shootings in North Korea? Doubtful.

Common sense gun laws.
I've Seen their common sense.
The No Gun Zone signs are a reminder.
More states are moving toward armed teachers. The Ohio sheriff had filled up the fifty teacher class in Twenty Minutes. I guess teachers aren't as dumb as some people think. Instead of running away, they are embracing the idea.

No cars, no guns. Unless yer a big shot or in the army or police.I bet there are a lot of people that those poor starving bast*rds would LIKE to shoot if they only had the means though. So yeah, a repressive, totalitarian regime is probably always going to look much safer. As long as you don't mind walking everywhere, and not having enough to eat.

As far as the 4th goes, I think most people would just shrug and move on. We are that used to the way things are now. It's not something most people are passionate about like the 2nd. The 2nd is one of those issues,like pro-choice vs. pro-life, or gay marriage or other LBGT stuff that people really get riled up about. How someone feels about those things almost immediately defines, in most folks minds, what kind of person you are, and whether you are a good guy or a bad guy. There is very little room for respectful disagreement.

I don't think that arguing about the 4th will ever rise to that level of willful ignorance.

I'm supposed to not notice the push for further limiting access to weapons, the screeching about banning
Assault Weapons, high capacity magazines, and every
Common Sense move.
Yeah, I'm unable to pretend that banning guns isn't a goal.

Point is gun control is more about control than guns. If you really wanted to stop shootings, roll back the 4th and let the authorities get busy.

I like the armed teacher idea, provided that they undergo proper training. I am not talking about a couple of hours at the range either, but a thorough background check, and a firearms training course. Let's face it, I know that these are "kids" in the schools, but a 16, 17, or 18 year old is old enough to know what the heck he is doing when he pulls the trigger. If just one innocent life could be saved, the whole thing would be worth it. Or maybe have a couple of trained and armed security officers per school. Sit them in a room with cameras in the classrooms and halls and let them do their job. I know it is expensive, but the state or federal governments have no problem throwing money down the proverbial rabbit hole. We could spend some to keep our children safer. Ain't it a shame that the evil in some people has made it so that we even consider things like this?
