Title: Rear turn signals relocation
Post by Blueraven on 02/28/18 at 19:15:03

I installed a set Saddlemen (Crus’inz) saddlebags on.
I think they look just right.

I need to relocate the turn signals to the tail light.
Anyone have any recommendations on where to get a set of quality lights?
I’ll be mounting them on a bracket attached to the license plate mount.

On line or the nearest motorcycle shop?

What style signals are you thinking of? - similar to stock, or something small, or maybe something with some bling? I did a lot of looking around and tried a couple of sets.

Are you thinking LED or halogen? You'll need a new flasher relay for LED. The relay isn't expensive and there's at least one model that plugs right in place of the stock relay.

My advice would be, whatever you get, get DOT rated lamps.  8-)

There are multiple threads that discuss this issue.....here is one from a few days/weeks ago - there are several others and even a post in the Technical Section.

It is really important that you not buy cheap LED turn signals - they just aren't visible in daylight/sunlight.  The stock turn signals may be a bit clumsy looking - but they are DOT approved and the lights are visible to other drivers.

Thanks Dave that helps give me some ideas.

The current lights are busted so I'm looking at getting a pair of Bikemaster 25-2286 which appear to be OEM quality.
