My stepson has suffered from bone spurs and they ARE quite painfull. At least the present President appears to have more respect for the enlisted military than his predacesser.

The article was not about dodging service, it's about Trump throwing out those who have served with distinction because he doesn't like transgender military personnel. The bone spurs were simply to juxtapose how little knowledge he would have of the military in order to make his unilateral decision.

Knowing the purpose of and understanding the rigors and challenges of duty isn't just for those who have served.
It's a readiness issue and,frankly, people who don't believe they are in the correct body just May Not be emotionally suited for some things and when others are needing everyone working together, the inclusiveness mantra just Might not be the way to keeping our people alive. No Telling what medical expenses America incurs over trans issues.

The total money spent on transgender soldiers probably equals one of his 50000 golfing trips as Prez. BUT how does the Pentagon come up with a $940 Million price tag for keeping transgender folk out??
