With the Democrat party veering so much to the left, they rejected me as a registered Democrat. With Trump over the top and in your face crap....... He is pushing the republicans to a point that appears removed from reality. This will leave a lot of folk like me, in the middle for the most part, that just want it done without party first partisanship. Tired of the media being the news..... I don’t see a third party, yet, but I see new blood in both parties. In a very weird way, Trump has highlighted what is so wrong with ALL of it, as everyone has come out of hiding to attack him, justified or not, it’s BS. I see a new awareness sprouting and neither side will be able to capture it, because that ain’t part of it..... |

You had the gal in New Youk, unseat a really vested ranking member of the democrat party, with less than 20% of the vote. That Jog is NOT a mandate to her, no, but testimony folks feel disenfranchised by the present same old, same old..... Trump has shook the tree, that is a reality. Except we will need bigger turnouts than 20% to beat incumbents in most races/districts. The status quo bubs have no sack, don't now if they should grab on to Trump, or run against him...... That is so script for most of the folk who make up the republican party, old tired white guys/ and men..... Look at the energy and frustration on this tiny board alone, yes, a rather small sampling, but I gotta believe a lot of that exist everywhere now. The "right person", not party, could grab a hold of that and run with it. That is partly why Trump was even able to win, he connected with what a lot of media and politicians had discarded. He is not in very deep, and he is his own worse enemy, and folks will toss him aside in a heartbeat for the "right" person. |

Libertarian, Green, both good choices for the extremes of the parties, the problem is that in America we are all about the us vs them team duopoly process, would rather "win" with someone we don't like than lose with someone we like. Before Trump, there were others, MANY others, Ron Paul, the birth of the libertarian party, and now "Justice Democrats", Bernie Sanders.... and what exactly has Trump actually done to fix the "wrong" (what do you consider wrong here anyway? there are SO MANY things, campaign finance, both sides becoming more extreme, the general malaise of the public?) That is EXACTLY what the two party system wants, divide those elements/votes, so they can't really threaten them, that is why it hasn't happened. Trump has shown folks WILL UNITE under one cause, as a foem on "none of the above" Yes, I know you hate him, yada,yada, yada,....... I am not talking about the PERSON, but the reason why, he was touted from the get go as a novelty and NOT REAL...... That is why folks choose him, because they didn't want the same old regurgitation of the two party system. Someone with more CIVILITY and DECORUM, and a ENCOMPASSING message of EVERYBODY, will figure it out, and they will be a force to reckon with. You saw money made no difference, Hillary had the best ever politico machine $$$$$$ wise, for naught. That was a WIN FOR ALL OF US! |

If that person is from the left, they'll bestow unwarranted Sainthood upon them like they did to obama, a man who accomplished virtually nothing and was elected. He'll be used as a bat to beat the right. If someyfights you, you're gonna fight back so we'd be right back where we started. If that person is fron the right, the MSM, entertainment and Hollywood would put a full court Trump-attack on them and again we'd be right back where we started. No, what I see happening is Trump keeps The Republic alive until 2020 or God willing, 2024. Then, leftist take control and we end up like Mexico: poor, corrupt, crime ridden and begging for assistance. One day we'll have an earthquake or hurricane and we'll have to rely on China to come pull our bodies out of the rubble the way we help other countries now. |

As in life, in general, lessons can take a life time, hell, it took me 50 F'N years to learn I can't drink ;D But because I denied it, for 50 years, didn't change the fact of the "truth" of the matter. We ALL want the same peace, love, happiness, its just that some will buy a Yugo from a fast talking salesman, first, and it takes them a little longer to arrive ;D |
