Title: Re: Trump Isn't Hitler Post by WebsterMark on 07/08/18 at 04:38:25 The definition of ignorant is insinuating commonality between Hitler and anyone else. Absolute, 100%, beyond the pale, ignorance. |

Title: Re: Trump Isn't Hitler Post by WebsterMark on 07/08/18 at 07:30:28 I never compared Obama to anyone even 1/100th as that of Hitler. You have repeatedly made the comparison. Hence the ignorant label. If together you want to call those making Hitler/Obama comparisons ignorant, I’m happy to join you, |

Title: Re: Trump Isn't Hitler Post by faffi on 07/08/18 at 12:24:32 Wars gets started this way, by people slagging each other while being utterly convinced they hold the only answer to the truth. I miss more objectivity and reduced slagging content. It is possible to be against Trump without name-calling og degrading remarks about the person, just as it is possible to be pro Trump without mocking former presidents. Personally, I do not think it is relevant to compare Trump to Hitler. In fact, I think it is insulting and wrong. Trump does seem to prefer a more autocratic governing system than USA has been used to the way I see it, and it is also interesting to observe the way he seems to feel at home around Putin and Jong-un, two other highly autocratic figures. On the surface, that is scary, but perhaps Trump has a bigger plan that could end up with more openness and less chance of conflict. I am not holding my breath, but the way Trump change from one day to the next, there certainly is a possibility that he is working on a long term plan, even if it seems chaotic and whimsical at the moment. Time will show. |

Title: Re: Trump Isn't Hitler Post by Serowbot on 07/08/18 at 13:12:21 Comparisons to Hitler are intended to be insulting. He does however have the support of the American Nazi Party, the Neocons, and the KKK... He has defended their rallies, while condemning those that rally against them. Sometimes comparisons have an element validity. With Obama, it was absurd... with Trump, it makes you think. For 50 years we've asked, "How could the Germans let it happen?"... Now we know... Trump is not Hitler,.. but he is comparable. |

Title: Re: Trump Isn't Hitler Post by WebsterMark on 07/08/18 at 15:48:53 No, he's not. No one is. And no, it doesn't make any rational person think anything other than the person saying is ignorant. |
