London? That city who owes her very existence to the US? England, that nation whose survival depends upon the US? Europe, that collection of nations who basically turn their entire defense needs over to the US so they could drink wine, eat cheese and holiday for the whole of August every year?

Okay, so go fly a balloon.

The shame isn't on Trump.

Will the winning ever end?... ;D

Hope not. Only thing Trump’s been repeatedly wrong about is we’d get tired of winning.

Winning is GREAT!
But dealing with the perpetually sore losers gets tiresome.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan gave permission for the balloon to fly.
Also, reported, said:  “supports the right to peaceful protest and understands that this can take many different forms”

OK, wonder if, such a balloon would be, ‘allowed’, to fly, if it was of, Mayor Sadiq Khan, or the Queen, or the PM ?
especially in a country of Subjects of a Monarchy, that has no equivalent to our 1st or 2nd. (Ask Tony Blair about that),

A Old Joke: ‘If not for the USA, and the Blood of it’s Citizens, most of Europe would be speaking German right now’.

If an unpopular dignitary were to visit America and Trump allowed such a thing, Trump would be the bad guy.
Funny how the lefties think.

Also worth mentioning in that context is that USA didn't much care about Europe and only entered the war after Pear Harbor because they were no under threat themselves and needed to defend themselves. Once they engaged in the war, it made sense to cooperate with the countries that was already fighting Germany and their compatriots. Up until Pearl Harbor, there was support among the general American population of going to war to save Europe. Understandably enough.

Could the world in general and Europe in particular fight back Germany, Italy and Japan without help of USA? Possible, we will never know. But there is absolutely no doubt that USA's commitment made the war come to an end much sooner. Which is why the majority of Europeans that recollect the war are/were highly grateful towards USA, and the story is still told in depth at schools to this day for the same reason.

I wonder how long the US can hold the WW2 thing over Europe's head.

If it wasn't for "us" etc. etc. may be true but it sounds weird coming from someone that didn't serve, or wasn't even born at the time.

If not for Louis XVI of France, who lost his head over this by the way,... Americans would all be speaking English today...

Oh,... wait...  ::)

So glad two of you had a good laugh,
over a ‘old’, joke.

Any comment on,  the second paragraph ?

So like the people here to be oblivious to the obvious.

I knew Louis XVI helped this fledging Country.  But the major reason, was a mutual enemy.

Didn’t think he was beheaded because of his helping the USA.  So I looked it up !

He was executed for treason by guillotine in 1793. After, (one of), the French revolutions in 1789.
Louis XVI sent money and material, after the Treaty of Alliance, in 1778.

So Bot, what would, YOU, call your statement: “…who lost his head over this by the way…” ?

You know there was a day that Western Culture believed in decency. No one would have ever dared be so rude and disrespectful to any world leader. This is just sad no matter whom it is. I would certainly be against such a display toward England.

I personally take offense to any country that would allow such disrespect to our President whether it is Trump or Obama. You may not like it but Trump Represents the American people and this is a slap in the face. Shame on them and shame on any American that finds this funny.

I don't think floating a balloon of any European leader in the US is the same equivalent interpretation.  It may be an even exchange but I think it would be more like floating a balloon of North Korea, or Russian leadership.

If Trump let a balloon of Kim float I don't think as many people would be upset.

“…I don’t think floating a balloon of any European leader in the US is the same …”

What if, a well known person, from oh let’s say the UK, came to N.Y.C..
Say that person was Just a Mayor of London.
And some people in NYC, made a discriminatory looking balloon, then Flew it, at close range, and with Tons of TV/Net/Etc. coverage, when the Mayor of London was visiting.

Wonder what would be said ?
In fact, wonder what, E.D.S. would say ?
Wonder what the, “Stand in the Street, Criers”, would say ?
Wonder what certain Collage students would say ?
Wonder what, M. Moore/J. Fonda, and like, would say ?
Wonder what the former POTUS would say ?
Wonder what a whole bunch of people, that believe the balloon in the UK is OK, when Trump is visiting, would say  ?

You might be right
That the American people would be so stupid doesn't make it right or smart

Trump should pull troops out and let them fend for themselves.
Piss on them
