But to be clear - it's not about lefties or righties. It's about people having access to guns when they shouldn't. This kid didn't kill because he was a lefty. He killed because he was deranged. Every poll shows that the majority of the country favors common sense gun control. NOT BANNING. But there is no conversation about it because our Congress is bought and paid for by the nra. Well, maybe that's not fair. They're not totally bought by the nra - there's big oil, big banks and big pharma too. So, what is there to debate? Easier access to guns? Free guns to everyone? Arm everyone in the country ages 4 and up? Maybe we should take a look and ask ourselves about the path that we're on currently - how's that working out? |

More specifically, that are within arm's reach of Chicago. Do you think the guns come from Illinois? Surely you can't think that mn. Anyone in Illinois can go to Indiana (25 min car ride from Chicago) and go to a gun show and buy a gun from a private dealer with no background check. In Michigan (just a 1.5 hr ride) and Iowa (just 2.5 hrs away from Chicago) the laws are even less stringent. So yeah mn, there are lots of guns in Illinois - but the ones used for most of the crimes are obtained illegally - or by questionable means in nearby states. Hey, you know what else is funny? There are laws against speeding on the highway, stealing and murder. Those get broken all the time too!! Hilarious, huh???? |
