I don't know why anyone cares about Syria.

There's a lot of reasons we are "in" Syria. We actually in the collective number of deployments and resources don't have much committed there. The largest and most direct reason was ISIS, if you are one of those people that don't believe ISIS exists then I'd recommend not reading further as it will just waste your time.

Humanitarian factors are part of the equation, along with posturing, and destabilization. War costs money, time and infrastructure for all involved, and if its less costly for us then that's ok, lesser of two evils.

A large factor is also that Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Isreal all have a direct stake in the activities there and they are direct (phase one) strategic allies for that theatre. We have airspace, infrastructure and resources in all those locations and giving the finger to allies is typically a long-term detriment.

Our way of life is dependent on what we are doing in other countries.

Syria, like Libya, was marked for invasion right after 9/11.

I don't think Obama WANTED to invade.
He was told to.
Trump has STATED he wants out of Syria.
Suddenly, nope.

I'm well aware of Isis.
And Russia is bombing Them.
And that's pissing our people off.
Because we support them.

I don't from my observations while in Turkey and Syria, believe we are "supporting" ISIS. That like a lot of things from the safety of home and internet articles being a primary source of information can be easy to say, but is hard to put into application. ISIS on the ground is a lot different than ISIS on YouTube.

I'm not going to go into it, people will think what they think on that and as far as I'm concerned until someone is willing to go witness some atrocity with their own eyes it's just not worth having the conversation over.
