Title: Trump's election banners, made in China Post by eau de sauvage on 09/08/18 at 03:28:08 isn't it kinda strange that the man who is applying punitive tariffs in order to have more companies make their products in America is getting his reelection banners made in China. Well I suppose it's not really strange because his entire manifesto is a sham. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/jul/25/trump-china-trade-war-tariffs-reelection-flags Even more ludicrous is that he's getting them made early before his tariffs put the prices up! |

Many would consider that a smart move. And those many, are the same that never said one word about: “President John F Kennedy ordered an aide to buy him as many Cuban cigars as he could just hours before he authorized the U.S. trade embargo - which subsequently made them illegal." |

Title: Re: Trump's election banners, made in China Post by Eegore on 09/10/18 at 07:00:16 We have to remember that if we can point to someone else's wrongdoing, even if its in another decade, then it makes what is being done now just a little more ok to do. Nobody paid protesters and stood up when Caligula started his barbaric activities in Rome, so why care about what the President does today, just roll with it. Since my grandparents didn't say anything about a President's activities decades before I was born I don't have a right to be critical of a President today. |

Is that the same kina, ‘wrong’, as putting up no parking cones in front of a popular restaurant when they are closed. Then coming back, parking in front when they are crowded? Please inform us all, what business person, would NOT, purchase a product they use, at a cheaper price, while they can ? |

Then coming back, parking in front when they are crowded?" In the way that its used in this forum, yes. All crimes seem to be considered equal as they have been presented so far. "Please inform us all, what business person, would NOT, purchase a product they use, at a cheaper price, while they can ?" I didn't say that it was bad idea, someone else did. I am saying that using a different person's action in a different decade to say that its good to do today makes little sense to me. What my grandparents failed to do about Kennedy has very little influence on how I assess the activities of politicians today. |
