Title: Is accuracy important in Trade War references?
Post by Eegore on 10/08/18 at 08:33:15

So President Trump stated Wed that soybean prices are on the rise, but talking it over this weekend with a commodities market advisor I see that its exactly the opposite:

https://www.nasdaq.com/markets/soybean.aspx

https://www.agweb.com/crops/soybeans/

Those are decade old lows reflected on the markets.  So is it important for the President to be accurate since we can so easily see the facts for ourselves these days?

He didn't claim that they are low now, but soon to rise, he said they are on the rise:

"And soybeans are going up, and things are going up, and we've had very little hurt, from what I’ve done. In fact, the markets have gone up, and the farmers are going to do great."

If it doesn't agree with Trump, it's fake news... ::)

if you're expecting Trump to be realistic and honest when he talks about his own policies......  where have you been the last 3 years?  He cannot, it's against the very fiber of his being, tell the truth if it is a negative against him in ANY way, and if it's positive he MUST exaggerate it so that his frail little ego can maintain it's inflation.

that really is how he is, I can provide example after example of him lying to protect his ego, so no, Accuracy has NEVER been important to this administration or it's supporters

 Let me clarify:

 Is accuracy important to us?

I donknow anything about commodities trading but this pulled up on a search.

2.54% increase past month, but an almost 12% drop for previous year. Is the monthly increase signs of a trend or a simple bump? I have no idea.

Is accuracy important? Sure.  In a political speech? Politicians get elected promising things they know have zero chance of occurring. No one really believed Obamacare was going to provide better coverage to more people for less cost and no one believed the infamous "if you like your plan, you can keep ypur plan." but I don't fault Obama for saying that.

And I dont know what Trump said. Was this at one of his rallys?
