Title: The Swamp
Post by MnSpring on 11/05/18 at 08:21:39

Went to pick up some, ‘GASP', shooting supplies this morning.
A new sign was hanging in the shop:

It’s harder to clean the swamp,
when you have
Alligators, And Crocodiles
Snapping at your AZZ

The swamp has developed a self protection system. I'm surprised at how much he has accomplished.

MnSpring, careful what you write. There is a Bill being put forth in New York that will require a Social Media check along with a Background check to be able to purchase those firearms.

Social media check is a double edged sword.  A longtime associate of mine pioneered internet profiling and background checks for businesses going back to the 90's, pre MySpace.

At first she said it was simple but there were situations later on for example a business hiring 6-figure salary management had a no-online alcohol consumption parameter because they had fleet vehicles in the company and there may be issued a company car.  There was a superior candidate that had a photo of him at a baseball game with co-workers in polo shirts holding clear plastic cups of stadium-purchased beer.  He was disqualified over that which is nonsense.

On the other end there's a lot of red flags out there now as social media has expanded greatly.  Another example is an employment candidate that had multiple images of animal cruelty, torture and such with comments essentially laughing about it and he was applying for a position in Animal Control.  Later he was criminally cited for drowning dogs in a cage at a lake for fun.  Imagine that guy having been hired as your AC manager.

 Will it be abused? Yes.
 Will it be beneficial? Yes.
